Geez, well maybe he would just lie down, tuck his head in like a turtle and pretend to be a boulder? Amazed he could still go to the bathroom...I know we are not really supposed to talk about PETA here, because it turns into a flamefest. But the basis of PETA's beliefs is that animals, even ones used humanely for fiber, are 'slaves'. PETA, if they had their way, would want no domesticated animals in the world, even if none were eaten or abused. So they would feel that shearing an animal as a very bad, though they think just keeping the animal is bad.
This is Shrek. A merino sheep who avoided being shorn for SIX YEARS. He managed to hide during shearing time. I bet he was relieved when all that fleece was finally removed after he was caught!
Did you have one hen who was getting picked on really badly? Or was sick? I am sorry if I am mixing you up with another BYC member! They are all finally getting along!!
I PM'd Babigyrl since she had not been on in a while, and she said to let you all know that she has been 1. Pregnant, 2. With Twins, and 3. Not feeling so great due to morning sickness, growing pains and working all day leaving her tired. Yay for her though!
