Highlights of what you missed...

Daron's 24. Tap shot a nice buck from her basement window, she was not wearing a dress, but she did have on dress pants and a nice sweater, so we'll let that one slide. This time. RaZ is still a free man and working hard to stay that way and to keep us all in chickens. We've got a lot of new members recently. That's always nice. Stacy got the prettiest cashmere goat. I think it was Stacykins. Babigyrl is preggo with twins. RaZ is a docent... yet kids make him puke. There was is the winter heat/no heat/ what about frozen water discussion that seems to happen every year. (I asked those same question my first winter also). The presidents still president. The sky is still up and the ground is still down. Good books for chicken keeping/homesteading were discussed a bit. Crazy people are incubating or are letting broody birds incubate (guilty!). Oh, and Brethrens hubby had an accident at work that crushed his leg, several surgeries to fix it. Plate and screws, but is on the mend. SO, in other words, same ole same ole. Different day, same poop. Kicking and screaming.

Hehe, yep! She is close to a cashmere goat, an Angora.

The midgets are supposedely very friendly, will approach both you and your other pets. And hens only get to 12 pounds. I only just have one acre and alot of that is the pole barn, garage, kennel and house, so will have to get some small thing constructed, but let me know. Their hatchery catalog is very nice. Doesn't give alot of description on the birds but I did further research online of course.
I just don't like the thought that the thanksgiving turkeys we buy in stores have been doused with chemicals to keep the toms calm and stuff like that. I think I could handle small birds especially if I am planning to give some to family for holidays. PM me back okay??

eh Stacykins, I bought a yarn spinning thing this year and am going to try to learn to spin my own fiber, you gonna sell any of her fiber when she's grown it out?? Or isn't she a fiber goat??

We recently moved from Oregon back to our Michigan roots. We were born and raised here, so came back to be closer to family after adding our son to our family last year.

Anywho.. we had 7 chickens in Oregon that we gave to our neighbor when we moved. We had a very small property and had to keep our chicks in a coop/run due to city ordinances. The property we bought here in Michigan is a little over .50 acre, and outside the city. Once we got settled, we started back into the chicken world. We just hatched our very first eggs ever and had a 100% hatch rate and are very excited. Granted there were only 4 eggs that hatch, we have more in the incubator waiting. Needless to say, I think we are addicted.

Our plans were to open a dog kennel once we got relocated.... I think those plans have changed!!

Is there a date set for next year's Chicken Stock? I am trying to decide what to do with my extra Mottled Cochin cockerals since I did end up with four boys and one girl. I'd rather sell them there than on Craigslist since they will be some quality birds. I'd like to come this year and meet you all.

I cannot make the reservations until the first Mon in Jan. Looking at the calendar, I'm shooting for the 22nd of June. Late enough to hopefully get good weather. Hope you can make it!

tennitivly its around the 3rd weekend in June....and there was a first annual Northern stock in August I think.
