Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hope everyone had a great day.

This year we are really broke so I am making gifts, and having fun doing it. I decided I'm decorating early and going to decorate everything, I started with the porch yesterday since the weather was so nice. It doesn't cost anything to decorate since I'm making decorations as well and digging everything out of strorage. So part of it is I am making my own cards. Yesterday I took pictures for the front of our Christmas cards. I have narrowed it down to two pictures and need so opinions on which is better, so let me know what you think.

I was surprised DH was ok with chickens on the cards but he said he had given up fighting it. So I get my Christmas Chickens.

I personally think homemade gifts mean more than what can be bought at a store! I make soap for my gifts. Means I have to have scent requests in way before Christmas, and people know what they are getting. But my family and friends ask for and love the stuff, so at least I know they enjoy it!

I think I kind of like the second picture better. While I love the alert poses in the first, I think the second is more centered and balanced. And the lighting is better. There is a dark patch in the first picture that I definitely noticed.

I like #1 but it needs a santa hat as well.

number 2... the roo kinda freaks me out... Took me forever to find his beak under that big walnut! My vote is for taking the silkie from two, and the rooster from one, and putting them together. HEHE SO, in other words, I like the way the roo looks in the first one and the hen in the second.

You need to photoshop them together. I like the naked neck in the first but the poofball in the second. I'd combine them and have the best of both worlds :)

Here's the view from my kitchen window, looking at the barn. It's kind of obstructed by all that flying white stuff.

Just keep that stuff over there, Lady.

Hope was very happy with the new stove. The butter dips baked 7 minutes quicker using the convection oven feature and she was certain they came out better.
It sounds like a very nice stove :) To adjust a recipe for convection cooking verses cooking with a regular oven, you simply lower the temperature by 50 degrees, on account of the air circulation. I do think they cook more evenly!

I like this one, but i wish you had given the first bird a scarf like you did in the second pic! You could always crop it down closer to the birds :) I like your arrangement, very pretty!

Hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving day!
We had a great one, I am going to be a Uncle again!!! As some of you remember that my oldest brother and his wife had lost a baby in August, but this time its my 2nd oldest brother and his wife! :celebrate The baby is 11 weeks old, and its due in June 13! :D They have only been married since January, but they live in Wisconsin. :( I am very excited about them, but I am remembering little Micah more than ever.

But yesterday was beautiful! After stuffing ourselves of food, all of us 9 siblings plus my brothers wives, minus younger brother(he went hunting for deer) played kick ball, my team "The bad guys" won, and "The good guys" lost. :D We played at my grandparent's yard in Fremont.

My convection oven automatically adjusts the temp for me. It only lowers by 25 degrees, though. I absolutely love baking with it and holiday dinners are so much easier to do when you can put so much in at one time.

Tap, I like the first one.
