making my lunch and looked out my back window. guess what i saw sitting on the fence just grooming herself away????

a loverly red tailed hawk that's been hanging around for weeks. she was just taking her time, preening and fluffing. i tried to get a picture, but she saw me.

she'll be back though. she's been around, like i said above, for weeks. she hasn't caused major damage. i think she's taken a few maybe, but if she has, it hasn't caused a huge dent in the babies. i'm keeping my eye on her though.

she was gorgeous and amazing. huge.

It could very well be. I shot at a fox this spring right after we got the chickens. Thought I hit is as it ran across my yard. Never saw it again. Gonna have to put em in chicken jail!

A Coon got 13 of my hens a month ago. It dug under the back outside coop door. I know is was a coon as the darn thing crapped in one of my next boxes. Oh did that tick me off. As like he was saying "TAKE THAT you foolish human" well no coon no more. And I was not nice about it either!!!

I have trapped/shot plenty of coons back when we used to have horses. I don't think they are getting them at night. We have 4 acres of woods on our property and the chickens have taken to going exploring out there every day. I do see a red tailed hawk around also. Would they attack a grown chicken?

I am so glad that my husband got the wood furnance going outside last night! the house is toasty warm

MJ- we are exercising indoors on the treadmill and stationary bike. Not as much fun, but it still works!

I was going through some of my stuff and I have a US Army camo netting that is brand new approximate 16x24'. It's 3" nylon netting with diecut leaf material attached to it and would make an ideal run cover with proper support. It would provide both aerial protection and diffused shade. It's FREE to the first person that wants it.

I had 2 neighbor dogs, both labs, attack my horse 2 summers ago. Tore his hip/rear up bad. $1200.00 vet bill to stitch him back up. The one neighbor said, "what ever needs to be done and we'll split the vet bill with the other neighbors". I had to leave a note on the others door for them to contact me. Never heard a word from them, so I finally had to go over and let them know that 1/2 the bill was their responsibility. They never did pay it, I did. Funny how some people think. Needless to say, their dog came back here one more time, and it was her last. Never seen the other neighbors dog again, as they put up a containment system to keep there dog in his own yard.

Hi my dear dear friends
I have a wonderful news for all of you.I have three council members interested in my case.One of the member has given me the number for legal person to get the clearance and then go to the health department to get the permit.My permit might go to city council for ok but they look in mood of approving it.

I cant explain how happy I am. Also one of the Former Detroit News reporter has contacted me for a story and for the pictures +.....
I will keep you guys updated..Thanks all of you for your great support and links and advices.My hopes have rised from 30% to 90% now.
