Hi all!

Just popping in to see how you all are doing- and to suffer from silkie envy.

I was actually looking at hatching eggs today. I am ready to fire up the incubator..but i am trying to time it so that I dont have babies in the house for too long. I need SPRING!
I am tired of being cold every night, and sitting in front of a heater.

On my way home this evening, it looked a little lighter outside- but that could be wishful thinking. Are the days getting longer yet?

It was warmer than it has been today, but no sun. It was grey, cloudy skies where I am. Now our driveways are like ice rinks. We walked down to the neighbors barn, his driveway was just awful.

Talked with my oldest son tonight. He called to tell me how much he enjoyed the pastrami and summer sausage that I had sent him. He also told me a story I thought was cute and I'll share it with you.

A man was caught shooting snowy egrets. When taken before a judge he was asked "you're not a market hunter, shooting them for their feathers are you"? "No sir, I shot them to eat". The judge said that even though he was eating them it was still poaching and the rules must be enforced. He lost his hunting priviledges and was levied a healthy fine. As he was leaving the judge ask "what does an egret taste like"? "Oh, about the same as a bald eagle".

Makes absolutely no sense. I could be sleeping like any normal person, but here I sit drinking my 3rd cup of coffee. Crossword puzzle is all done, BYC is quiet and I wide awake. Dumb.

Mornin' Sam. It's either BYC or lay there and stare at the ceiling.
Portable shanty is assembled and sitting in my living room. This constant thawing and freezing makes me a little leary of the Ice. Wasn't that good before this thaw. Next fall I'm thinking of buying a snowmobile just to make sure we have our first snowless winter in west Michigan.

Sam - I'll share that cup with you. I'm on the 4th or 5th by now. I was up way too early. Woke the flock up feeding and watering them. Did all my chores for the day and I'm off to work in 30 minutes. Gonna be a long day! And suppose to be really nice out. Hopefully I'll see the sun for a minute or two walking to the truck.

Good Morning all. Ive been up long enough to read everything on all the sites I go to- not that I have, but I could have. Finished a pot of coffee. Everyone else is sleeping in here, except me and the dogs. They never veer from their wake-up schedules even on the weekends. Funny thing is, I have tried to make my husband let the dogs out- but they wont go out for him...just me. Not fair.
