Where are you located at? There are some in northern Michigan.

We just re-did our bathroom. The contracter we hired botched the job beyond repair so he got rid of him and DH found a friend who needed some extra money and the two of them finished it. Looks great. We live in a rustic looking cabin and now our bathroom looks modern! We had to go through Home Depot mainly because we had to piecemeal it after the contracter. I should post before and after pix.

When we redo the kitchen, we'll probably go through the kitchen & bath place on M-55

I live in Davison, right outside of Flint. We had a kitchen bath place in town but it's not there any more. Gonna check out Lansing tomorrow, so if you know of any, let me know!

Sorry, don't know of any. DH grew up in Flint. I used to live in Goodrich, on Green Road.

Good luck

Good morning all-

Plenty of coffee here if you'd like. I have had a coffee maker malfunction- coffee poured itself out all over the counter. This is not the first time this has happened. I am considering pitching it out and signing up for that fancy Gevalia (sp) one I saw on the net..they send me coffee every month- I get a free coffee maker...
Regardless, I started filling cups to avoid a giant mess as the coffee was pouring out-which will add to extra dishes to wash now. yay me.

Ive got two sick kids- one is at home today from school, the other went today, stayed home yesterday and she has a doctor appt today at one pm, so I will pick her up from school to take her. I want her checked for an ulcer. She has had chronic stomach pain for months and months whenever she eats and it has progressed now that she barely eats a little soup for her meals and she is pale, weak, and dizzy. hard to eat when everything hurts. We have been in the ER about three times for it and they have found nothing wrong. I have been told it was gas, a possible passed kidney stone, and lets see one time, they said urinary tract infection. Hopefully we can get some answers today.

Opa- kind of sneaks up on us, doesnt it? I will be 41 in March and I can easily put myself into a panic attack if I think about how fast time goes by. I remember when it took forever to get through a year, and now in a blink...

Sitting here drinking coffee and thinking about how well me snowblower has worked. Hard to believe that we are approaching the end of January and I have used it once. I'm sure that had I not bought it we'd have snow 3' deep.
Finished the new rollout nest yesterday and today I will install it. Hopefully this does the trick because yesterday at least six eggs were eaten.

Good Morning!

Chilly outside, but the sun is shining

I am a youngen compared to most of you all. So glad to be able to get your wisdom and advice through this forum.

have an excellent day! Taking a meal today to my brother and sister in law. Amy has radiation on her neck at noon and at 2:30 an appointment with the brain surgeon.

Good morning all

As I was lying in bed at 1:30 am trying to sleep [aka, reading], I heard Elliott crowing. I figured I had better go out and check if everything was ok, it was. Elliott belted out a few more crows while I was out there. I heard him again an hour later. I guess it's a good thing there aren't any neighbors too close by.
On another note, I have an EE that has gone broody. I suspected she might be trying to a few days ago when she would growl at me from her nest box. But then she would be off the nest later. The next few days she did the same thing. Then yesterday she would not leave the nest box. She was still on there this morning. She couldn't have more than two or three eggs under her. I put an extra one in the box with her.

Opa, I cannot thank you enough for buying that snowblower!

It can be so frustrating dealing with some doctors, ecpecially when you know something isn't quite right but they don't seem to care to find out what is wrong. Has your daughter seen a gasterointeroligist[sp?] yet?

ijon1, my mom would have been 67 come April 1st.

Wish they wouldn't send those seed catalogs so early. Looking at them now makes you start wishing for planting weather. Then you start trying to figure out how many days before we can plant and that make you realize just how long winter is.

Good Morning All.
One more day to work, then the weekend off. I can get through today- staff meeting will take up three hours of it. I need the weekend to catch up on chores. I sure hope the weather helps out. I have silkie and Black Giant eggs coming Monday. Hopefully they arrive safely and dont freeze waiting for me to get home and collect them off my porch. My dad lives in Chattanooga and quite enjoyed telling me how much it has warmed up there. He is in early Spring-time now with 60 degree temps. Of course, it is also storming there and not here. He is in a hurry for it to warm up here so he can come visit. He won't visit during the cold weather. I told him that he has MONTHS to wait.

I have a Dark Cornish hen who is so darn mean to my newcomer chickens that I threatened to send her to the farm and fates unknown, but she must have been listening, because I havent seen her cause any trouble since I said it. I think she is thinking of going broody. Every time I check on them, she is in the nestbox. I bet she would make a good protective Mom. I may need a kevlar glove if she does go broody, however, just to put some eggs under her.

Opa, I was planning my garden the other day. I just dont think I am going to put one in. I plan on putting up a privacy fence in the back to block the neighbors view of my yard, also my husband says if we dont replace the roof of the garage this year, it is going to cave in. Both of those jobs would destroy a garden because of location. I planted tomato plants and pepper plants along the other side of my yard last year. My neighbors on that side have a obnoxious fox hound and he reached UNDER the privacy fence and tore them all up. He dug giant holes under the fence and I really wanted to set up rat traps to teach him not to do that- but my husband wouldnt let me. I think I will just think about it and if its worth the effort of trying this year.

You all have a great day.

Good morning all!

I have the asme problem with seed catalogs. But, I think that chick catalogs are even worse. I can buy the seeds; chicks are a bigger wish list. This year I can only get chicks that we will be butchering because of space issues. Oh well, I can always dream:rolleyes:

I have been on this site for about a year.
I have had chickens for 13 years (not the same ones) Probably 3 years ago my daughter took over the chicken operation and expanded to selling eggs for her own business. Rachel is 13 1/2 now. We raise meat chickens for sale during the summer. I do 2- 3 batches of 40 birds at a time. 12 meat chickens go to the fair for the oldest 2 kids auction birds, and the money goes towards college.
Enjoy your front desk job while you have it!
