Mine can come and go as they please, some days they do.

Today they havent stepped out of the coop.

Just makes more poo to clean I guess.

Am I ever glad I bought them a heated water base though.

With the "alleged" cold we have coming this week, I guess they'll be getting a heat lamp in there too.

I just put my 5 welsummers in with the rest of the birds and hung a heat emitter bulb in anticipation of this coming sub zero weather. Lucky us, but at least no snakes. Which reminds me of winter field problems when I was stationed in Germany back in the 60's. I'm sure you have seen the raised tunnels field mice make in the snow. A great number of the draftees were city boys who had never spent any time in the country. We told them that the raised tunnels were created by albino snow snakes. When they asked if the snakes in Germany were poisonous we replied they weren't but they were extremely dangerous since they didn't strike; they just crawled up your ____ while you slept on the ground. They claimed not to believe ups, but they still shook out their sleeping bags. Here's your sign.

I keep exersicing and haven't lost much, less than 5 pounds and I want to lose 40 pounds or so! I am so cold this winter, like never before, so I am hoping I am just losing the fat and building muscles....

got to get kids to bed.....

Hey can I come to the big meet up even if I have no chicken eggs to trade? I have button quail eggs I can bring if anyone wants them. I can't get chicks until I get everything set up maybe by the meet up time I will be ready

Hey all just so ya know the 54 designer chicks in my bators are from Julie. Thanks for posting pics of the parents Julie. I just can not wait for these babies.

I wish I could get out there and shovel my run but until I am off the crutches from my knee surgery and more steady on that ice and snow they are stuck with the pet taxi lady taking care of them (thank God for the pet taxi lady). She takes very good care of them but I can not ask her to shovel my runs as well. She shovels them a small portion and puts straw down for their feet.

I am not liking the weather report for that cold either, I sure am glad that I have the two litters of pups here to keep me busy. I am socializing a litter of PomChi's and a litter of Shelties for the pet taxi lady. Nothing like 10 pups at 4 and 5 weeks to take your mind off your pain. Anyone else with fibro and nerve damage?

I will be running a couple of heat lights as well, or should I say the pet taxi lady will be running some heat lights for me.

Man I can't wait for this winter to end. With this cold I am even afraid to start my winter seed sowing. Guess I should go see what they say about it on that board who knows it may be the best year for it. Does anyone else winter sow their seeds?

Well here is hoping it does not get as cold as all that.
