Hey Jean

Most of the flock is hidden in those pics. I refuse to count how many I have as it would some how be an admission of guilt...lol.

Sounds as if you are doing well , although I would think 10 puppies could be strenuous for somehow recovering from knee surgery.

I have nerve damage in my neck/shoulder. I had to give up my motorcycle last year because of it. Epidural injections haven't helped and they burned out a section of the nerves at the vertebrae and if anything I am worse. Now they are kicking me back to the surgeon. My boss is talking of closing the business.... I have my fingers crossed we last long enough for me to get my surgery.

Hope you have a great hatch !!!!! I am soooooooooooo trying not to hatch anything at this time. This time last year I had 3 bators running full bore...lol. Plus a silkie sitting in the house on eggs.

Of course you can come. I don't have any chicks or eggs either. Had to give up my roosters cuz of stupid neighbor. It'll be fun to meet fellow chicken lovers.

My run is 24x22. I shoveled it yesterday morning and my chickens did come out for a bit. They were in and out all day. With this super cold weather coming, looks like they'll be inside their coop for a few days.

Yep, getting colder. And when that happens my work comes to a standstill.

So in order to pass the time waiting till it warms up, I'll be spendin more time here. I guess you folks are gonna have to put up with me for a while.

You can only hope for warm weather so I can go back to work.

I was cold this morning, but not much snow to shovel, just a light dusting!!! I was excited....doesn't take much to excite me as I am getting older!LOL!!!!

Off to get school started with the kids!

our neighbor came down and plowed our drive in exchange for two frozen chickens! he saw my husband plowing for our neighbors and offered to do ours!

he has a large cow farm and wants to trade for eggs and chicken. said my chickens were the best they ever had. wow. that made my day!

yes! we really try to help our neighbors and encourage our children to do so also.

my girls walked chicken noodle soup that i had made down to an elderly couple the other day. they came back toting two lovely squashes! what a nice thank you that wasn't even necessary!

we are on the THRESHOLD of tons of eggs. i have 25 girls that are set to pop any minute now. i can't wait to bless the neighbors!

Awe, that's sweet! Yep - folks ought to help one another. When we moved up here 14 yrs. ago from Iowa, I was gravely disappointed that more folks didn't help one another. That's just how it was back in Iowa. But, we still do what we can to help others. I have to think SOMEONE is taking it as a good example. If not, at least I'm all good in my own heart!

Wish I could say the same about my girls...I did see one of mine in the nest box this a.m., and she doesn't tend to hang out there unless she's getting ready to lay. I've been getting 2-3 eggs per day...got 5 yesterday (miracle!). I don't use heat or lights in my coops, though, so I'm not expecting much until February...which is just around the corner!

isn't it funny how some neighborhoods are very linked and some are all strangers to one another!

i have 5 that lay (my mutts) and they have laid all through all this winter. we get 3-5 a day also. cannot wait till the other 25 kick in!

I can't wait until I have more eggs to share with everyone. Right now we have just enough to feed us. Come spring I should have plenty to share with everyone I love!
