Morning everyone!

This is going to be a busy one. We picked chicks up from the PO this morning. They are all doing well, but our Chanteclers did not arrive. They did not have enough pullets to cover all the orders, and now we have to wait until 3/24. UGH! On a good not the incubator is up and running. I'm hoping to set eggs in th morning. YEA!

Now I need to finnish the new brooder, pick up 1/4 side of beef from the processor in Peck, and then run to Brown City to pick up 1/2 side of pork. Plus I was supposed to smoke a Turkey for dinner. It's too cold outside for that!

Off I go.

Morning all! I've had sick kids for the past two weeks. Yuck! Thankfully it's just a cold virus. Albeit a nasy one -- complete with fevers. Oldest DD is doing much better, but the youngest is still trying to shake it. Yesterday was the first day in my life that I have ever been puked on (not counting baby spit up). Youngest DD got me good when I was holding her. Yuck! She's 2 1/2 years old and so she just had too much drainage in her tummy.

On a better note, my chickens have been laying quit a bit lately. Even better than this past summer. Weird, huh?

I don't know what it;s doing where the rest of you are at but the way the snow is starting to pile up here I'm soon going to have to go out and fire up the snowblower.

I've got 3 foot drifts all the way to the coop...it takes all I can do to walk through it. And the wind is so bad right now, there's no way I can even get out there and plow it. Next year, maybe I'll install a zip line from the house to the coop.

Michele I can see where a zip line from your 2nd story window could be an effective and exciting method to use to get to the coop but going back to the house you will have to figure out how to unzip yourself.

Hehe, What a good idea! Even better my coop is naturally downhill from the house. We could really start something out this way Michelle. Heck I'm headed out your way right now. Time to go pick up the piggy. The kids faces were priceless this morning when I told them we needed to pick up a pig and a cow today. They got all excited, and then common sense set in, and started asking questions. That's when I admitted that they were the type of pig and cow that "live" in the freezer.

I so amuse myself.

Hello all. Just poppin in to say hay! Haven't been online much lately as I have been busy with this winters big project. Last November the wife and I purchased a 1968 Pontiac Firebird that I have been restoring in my pole barn. Lots of work but should be all done by June or so. So if you see a blue streak flashing by its probably Kelly and I stretching the new 428 engine's legs a bit.

Hope everyone is doing fine. I know I am sick of the cold and snow. Let there be sun, warm weather and baby chicks!.

We are going to try to find a nice broody to sit on some of our wellie eggs this spring. The rest of the flock is doing just fine although they hate the snow. I plow a path out to the coop with my pickup and they love scratching in the exposed grass.

Later gators!
