so, there are dudes outside trimming trees for the electric company. a few days ago, they said they would bring me all the free wood chips i wanted. they are waiting to fill a truck so i get a full load.

did the smart thing this morning...took hot sticky buns to them. shavings arrive this evening.

free chips for my coops! woot!

That is what I said too. I thought I was going to have to pay to have them cut down and the bids where sky high then one day the city shows up and starts taking them down it appears they where in the 15 leeway

Took my little guy to the doc he has croup. The dr. tells him this and he says like the chicken coop....

the dr. just laughed. Told him to stay home and eat popsicles...Brrr.
I am heading out to go check for eggs again, my girls have really slowed down lately.

Know what guys and gals?! I propose that for next winter, say around mid January when we're all TOTALLY fed up with winter, we all get together for a sit down/chow down...with a couple big pots of friendship soup, homemade bread, and lots of baked yummies.

Glad I've got a whole year to get it together! Between my 3 year old and all the chickens, my days get pretty hectic sometimes. But I'll definitely work on getting things figured out...but I will need lots of input/suggestions/advice from all of you. YIPPPPEEEE!

Something to actually look forward to next winter.

How 'bout a potluck type get together? I could keep a list of what everyone is offering to bring so that we have lots of different goodies.
