The only reason they have dirt is because I shoveled it out and that is right where I give them their treats everyday....usually leftovers and scratch....the hardy ones stay out there and scratch away until they find every last bit.

I just gave away my coop, now I need to get busy and get my permanent one started. You know when you drive out in the country and go past an old farmstead....they have that shed type roofed, bright red with white trim, two window and a door kind out back?....kinda like this only smaller

yep thats what I want. Guess I better get the lumber yard to put me on their delivery schedule.

Think 10x16 is adequate?

Need to have it done by spring so this one can go.

Now it is time to hold my breath. I have button quail eggs due to hatch on the 30th and the temperature fell to the 70's last Thursday hoping gives me a late hatch turning is over today

Steve, I think that will be a great plan for a new chicken house. When I built my chicken coop I was given 4 pieces of 1 1/2"x7'x8' plywood. That more or less dictated my build but I was still trying to get something like you are planning.
