Last I checked this morning it was only -10...got 5 inches of snow. The SUN is SHINING here too!! Thank you Lord
Yesterday I walked the mile trip to our mailbox and it was like a "whiteout"....not the pleasant walk it is on good weather days. I am YEARNING for spring!!! Grass Lake sounds familiar...what county is that in?

Grass Lake is about a stone's throw north from me. (5 min).... would hate to make that haul to Detroit though... over an hour one way! Haven't heard of the name though, cause I don't get out much!

I had a friend of mine from Australia come to stay with me twice. He bought my first one at a reptile show in 1999 and he lived until 2006. I used him and his mate for reptile shows at MSU when I belonged to the Michigan Herpetological Society. We would teach kids and adults how to care for reptiles. The two I used for those shows were among the 3 that died while brumating. I cried for days!

Well, they changed Grass lake to Skeegemog... about 10 years ago.. so I do not think it is the same lake.... because we have -22º weather this morning :-( Now that it is later it is about 10º ABOVE YAY!!! My chickens are OK because I have a 100 W light bulb 24/7 in their coop ... they are fine... My duckies however are not so lucky-- heated water pail and treats but still ---- pretty darned cold -22 º outside they have 3 bales of straw high on 3 sides plus plastic around their enclosure protecting them from wind and some cubbies to nest in .. still darn cold ! I don't like getting out !!

Wow. I take one little 4 day nap and you people chat six pages worth for me to catch up on.

I don't recall being that sick ever before in my adult life. I'm still not 100%.

It's good to see a date for Chickenstock. It'll be a long shot for us to make it, but I'm going to try.
