Waiting to hear how M J is doing been praying all day for her. Baked homemade chicken soup and chocolate cupcakes today thought of her the whole time.
Was wondering if anyone can tell me a banty breed that has feathered feet and lays colored eggs, got a old man who wants me to hatch some and he had them as a kid. I am not up on banty's.
On the other hand the eggs I got from Julie (BYC handle Jab91864 and is from MI) are pipping. I got three started as of 5:15 pm today. These are designer chicks and I must say I have hatched from Julie before and got the most beautiful birds, the neighbor's dog killed them at 11 weeks when it went thru the electric fence. They were so nice I had to order more from her. She is great to work with and a super nice lady. The electric fence has a higher charge now it will knock an elephant to it's knees and the whole neighbor hood knows it.
Steve seen your wife's quilt on the craft thread. I must say how nice it was to see you so proud of the woman you married. It was a very well done quilt you are right to be bursting at the buttons over her and her quilting abilities.
Nice grandson and congrats on the new soon to be Granddaughter, I believe her name is going to be Ava. Your wife is making her such a beautiful blanket. She also enabled me LOL I am going to start saving for that cutter she told us about.
I would go with concrete floor if ya can swing the cost. Might be more expensive but will be so worth it in the long run. You can also get a sealer for them now so that they don't bring water up like a wick. Just roll it on with a brush, I would let it air out if you go with a sealer.
I am so excited about my eggs pipping, I can't wait to see what I got. The last ones that I hatched from Julie were mostly feather footed, it was so cool. Right now I have a pen with 1 blue cochin hen, 2 black orps hens, 5 buff orp hens and 1 black orp roo, and my other pen has 5 SG dorking hens 1 BR hen and 1 SG dorking roo. These will be fun and should start laying come spring.
Thanks for letting me share.
