My silkie plucked her own belly feathers and lined the nest with them, before she went broody. Silkies love to go broody, can they be getting ready to go broody?
OOOOOOHHHHHH, the sun is shining and it's suppose to be warming up a bit! Just the sun makes the mood better. Enjoy it, all!

My faverolles plucked their belly feathers when they went broody! So that would be my guess as well!

My Emden goose just started laying eggs! I seriously need to take my African out to the middle of our pond, come spring thaw, on a daily basis until she's not afraid of deeper water... she is so afraid of not being able to touch bottom!!! LOL! They both need to start using the pond, I'm tired of dumping nasty pool water for them everyday when I have a 2 acre pond just begging for them to go crap in it!

Once I get all of late DH's stuff organized and out, I realize I have a very large garage with a cement floor as well as an 8 x 12 pole barn to do things with. I don't think I'll do anything this summer, but I do have project possibilities for later, including possibly bringing my horses home instead of boarding ...

Glad to see you're focusing on the positives!

Speaking of positives... (well it is to me anyway)..... I just got confirmation that I'm on "the list" to meet the band! I'm so excited! (I'm taking my drawings to get them signed!)

Any and all projects will probably be good for you....keep you busy. If the weather gets warmer we may feel more like planning our gardens! I'm starting seeds indoor this year...think I will plant March 18....probably too early but I'm doing it anyway.

I set the basement up with a grow light and table.

I was so glad that my husband had found a hobby ... until RC aircraft literally took over our house. Keep in mind that our house is only 600 sq. feet 20 x 30. We had 3 aircraft in the living room, one plane had almost a 4ft wingpspan, another 3 aircraft on on our enclosed porch along with 6 gallons of fuel. DH got rid of two of the chairs to put his workbench against one wall. The small table by the phone got turned into a second computer desk where he watched DVDs of David Platt and other RC stuff (where he died) as well as finding propellers, soldering irons and tiny screws in odd places like the silverware drawer. He was turning the small pole barn into a workshop and once he got it heated and ventilated, everything would move out there.

Well, that obviously didn't happen. Luckily I've already sold a lot of his tools and a friend of his is going to come over one day to help me inventory the aircraft and I'm going to see if Roger's Hobby in Saginaw can sell some of this on consignment.

I've sold his Mongol style composite bow and that will get shipped out Wed or Thurs whenever I receive the money order.

I still have more things for sale (tools, hardware, lumber, other odds & ends). If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM.

I was able to buy a couch today and rearrange some furniture and the living room actually looks like a proper living room now.

Kind of sad and ironic to know that his death was the catalyst that got this going ...

I fell prey... That darn TSC! Went up there yesterday to see if they had baby bird formula in a mix and found baby birds instead. Brought 6 of the bantams home even after I told myself NO a hundred times. I must say it will be fun to see what they turn out to be. With Turkeys coming in the next couple days and Silkie chicks hopefully next week. OH BOY!
