shoot, i hope i haven't set the bar to high and then i plummet to the ground with a big

making the Sock It To Me cake right now. hopefully, i will have time to do a Duke's Chocolate Cake. OH MY WORD! i am so going to make some cupcakes for the kids in ice cream cones! just thought of them up on top of the fridge! cupcakes for the kids! wooo hoooooo!

I think that I might have to dig out a chocolate cake recipe for you. A neighbor who was in her eighties gave it to me. Said she had been making it for years. I might have been 12 or 13 when she gave it to me, so we are talking about an old recipe. Hope and Granny made it for my birthday. Last night I found some of the leftover icing in the refrigerator. It was in a plastic container holding 16 oz. You did see the word was in the previous sentence. I thought I'd take just a taste since some of you woke up my sweet tooth with all that ice cream talk. That icing isn't called chocolate fudge for nothing.

I remember the days when I just loved to down a few cold ones. I gave 'em up when I got pregnant with my son almost 4 years ago, and now I can't even stand the smell of 'em.

Opa, that cake sounds delish! I'll trade ya one of my grandma's recipes for it!

Dietician insisted I drink two beers, or 1 glass of wine, or two shots of whiskey daily....honest injun, my wife was right there and heard it too.

I don't like whiskey and I am not fond of wine.....I don't drink during the week, but who am I to go against the dieticians orders on the weekend?

I'm with ya there, Steve. If I could, I think I could just sit out in the coop for hours at a time just watching everyone. I can't wait every day just to go out to take care of them. I have a 3 year old, and a DH who works goofy hours, so my time with the chickens is minimal. However, come spring that'll all change.

Holy catz! I'm glad you got some good medical advice, Steve!! You're truly right - animals are therapy! I'm as happy cleaning horse stalls as I am bathing/grooming my horses as I am cleaning chicken pens...and yep, I, too can watch critters for hours. My DH is amazed by this. I often take a chair into the chicken run, and a barley pop, and just watch and sip...it's most definitely therapeutic!

Hey All,
DS must be feelin' ok becuz my cell phone didn't ring all day!

I hope he isn't to tuckered out from his day back at school.

I went for the silly ultrasound (not nearly as fun as it was when I was pregnant) DH went with me he said she took lots of pictures of black spots and measured them all on the screen. I have no idea what all that means. He is all worried, I told him it is nothing.
After that he took me out to eat! Had a yummy breakfast and then he helped with the grocery shopping! What a great day! I think I will run out quick and give the coops a good cleanin'

Then a nice cold barley pop for me!
