It sure got nasty for a while last night. David called and they didn't have power and this morning they still don't. He just got here to take a shower and get ready for marching in the Memorial Day parade in Hamburg. Evidently some areas in the county got hit pretty hard and others very little. Glad I was in the very little area.

Take a minute or two today to reflect on those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Please include in your prayers the families who also sacrificed a loved one so we could enjoy this beautiful day in the United States of America.

you think its an EE??? Is that an Easter Egger? sorry..new to all this, we picked most of our pullets from Tractor supply and Family Farm and Home and we have a few odd balls that we have no clue what they are. Like one totally white one, she has the same coloring as my broilers, just not shaped like a fatty broiler. Im thinking she may be a leghorn?? This chick is the sweetest ever. I went in the henhouse this morning and she was instantly on my foot and then she walked over and watched me milk the goats. Shes a goofball.

No power at our house so we're at my parent's house taking a shower, eating real food, washing baby bottles and filling them with water...sounds like no power until Wednesday!!!

My eggs were all done hatching but my other incubator is going and last night I rigged it so it's running off the truck battery...it'll work for now. (thankfully I have the day off) Anyone in the Lansing area have a generator they would let me use/buy? If so my cell is 517-243-6735...posting my cell # on here cause once we leave there's no way for me to check if anyone replies! Hope everyone is safe after the storms...there's a lot of destruction in Eaton Rapids area on M-99.
