Hello MI people!
I live in Gaylord and I currently have some free birds for whoever would like them.....must be a good home for some of these birds....
I have two gold seabright hens.
1 adult Sultan hen.
That's it at the moment.
Contact me if you are interested.
My Sultan hen is a tad mean to chickens smaller than her and she loves pushing people out of their nesting boxes.
She just needs to be with big birds. She's a bit skittish, but she's nice once you get a hold of her. Her name is Sophie.
One seabright is nice, the other, not so much. Everyone gets handled the same, but for some reason some just don't take.

That's Sophie, I have no pictures of the seabrights. I can get some if anyone is interested.

Oh I know all about the vinegar trick. We've done that and bought the special cleaner as well. I wish it worked. I can't imagine how many times we've done that. This is our 2nd coffee maker in 2 yrs. Whenever I can buy a new one it won't be a Mr. Coffee! I've had them for 15+ yrs and never had a problem til the last couple of years. Aric is a great mechanic and he's taken the whole thing apart in both of the last two machines and can't find anything wrong. We even brought out an old percolator but it leaves too many floaties in my coffee so we went back to the slower than a turtle's pace machine

How much coffee do you drink in a day? Try a french press. No internal parts to get mucked up and makes great coffee fast, just the time to boil water plus a couple minutes to steep. You just need to get the large ground coffee so the filter catches it. There are even insulated ones so your second cup is still warm. I just microwave my second cup.

Anyone very close to Macomb Twp with blue or green eggs for sale? I have a broody hen being stubborn. She wouldn't go broody when I had 21 eggs to incubate before Easter and now she has decided to hatch. Otherwise she'll be hatching (hens laying are Polish, Isa Brown, Wyandotte), rooster is a Silkie. I don't have time to drive anywhere this week, so it has to be close by. I really want blue eggs and it just didn't work out earlier this year because at that time I had too many other eggs to incubate. Thanks!

And yes...she would probably pick on your girls. She's not like overly aggressive or anything....just a bit of a snot. A peck here and a peck there. For no real reason either....just because she can.

sj3364 - I don't have the money for anything fancy...or anything at all. We drink a lot of coffee so that's the reason the cheaper coffee makers don't work for us but it was all we could afford a few months ago when we bought this one.

chickflick - We have $28 to get us to July 1st when I get paid again. We still have to buy more feed which will take up all that money, $5 doesn't even get us a gallon and a half of gas to get there and I'd want money to buy more chickens so I'm better off staying home

I incubated a bunch of chicks and ducks to take with me but at least by selling them from home I can get a new coffee maker

Sorry you can't make it, Keyt. It's so much fun and load of good food and great people. Hopefully, by next year, things will be better.
It's a beautiful day out!! Sun shining and warm! I'm trying to get ready for our camping trip this week end. Going to Ludington. Can't wait. Hope the weather will be better than our last trip over Memorial Day weekend!
