Yeah, if my big O was still here (Otis, my French Mastiff who passed away last year) that fox wouldn't show its face. Otis always walked the property marking his territory and watching for intruders. After he passed I went to the other extreme and got three Chinese Cresteds and the fox is bigger than them! They wanted me to let them out so bad but they would have chased the fox into the woods where it is a swamp and I would have had to bathe three dogs besides get everything ready for tomorrow. Also not sure the fox wouldn't have tried to hurt them. Or he may have mistaken my Sachi for a female fox and tried to get cozy!

ABSOLUTELY!!! Right now as far as stuff I'm bringing that I've made, I have one, maybe 2 blankets and a bunch of baby hats. If you don't like what I have I will gladly make you something!!! I'm known for intricate, fancy blankets and I think most of those are gone I'll have to check. Sometimes I'll make things and put them up and forget I have them lol.

Another broody would be great. I already have 3 silkies and a frizzle sitting on eggs. There's lots of room in the barn for the girls to spread out so I haven't had any fighting. Your BCM broody would be really spoiled and loved here I promise you that!

I also remember you've said about wanting BCMs. I gave in and decided to bring pairs of Marans instead of just the roos. I haven't decided exactly how much I'll be asking per pair, but $20 will be absolute max. Might be a cheep way for you to end up with a trio (pair from me and the broody BCM from Nigellas). All three pullets are FBCMs, two of the roos are BCMs and the other Maran roo I think is Salmon colored.

Oh! Wish I was going so I could finally meet you Wynette....along with all my other fellow Michiganders. My chicks from your eggs look beautiful...but think maybe only 2 are pullets!

However...it is a start!! Are you bringing any chicks with you??

HAPPY DAY...I walk outside and look across the yard to the duck run where the chicks are and say "where's my chickies?" in a stoopud sounding Mommy voice, and they actually came to the door and looked out!! They've been in and out all day, but it must be cool for them cuz they mostly stay IN. I pulled some very tall weeds in their run, so tall I couldn't see the chicks when they were in them, and found a couple fat night crawlers which I tossed to them. They looked at them kinda funny as if to say "are we supposed to EAT this stuff?" and ignored them!

Boy the 6 little things (red sex linked) I had last spring from TSC would grab and fight over worms. That was fun to watch.

Question about transporting the birds to Chickenstock.

Should I put the birds in the totes tonight when they go in for the night? Or should I wait until the AM when they are waking up?

I'm thinking that it might be less stressful for them if I put them in the truck tonight. It has a cover so they wouldn't see daylight until I get to Lansing.

Thoughts?

The older birds I would load tonight. Due to the need for heat the chicks will be loaded tomorrow.

Just a reminder to everyone remember to bring waterers for for birds

Ok. Not sure how much money we'll have but I'll work on it because we desperately want marans!! I'm still hoping to sell one or two of the items we have on craigslist before we come out, but doubtful.
