You can see mites in your coop?? I only find them on my chickens. And myself if the chicken is sick or dieing then they will abandon ship and be crawling on my arms.

I candled eggs last night and it looks like all 24 eggs in the incubator are viable. If they all hatch and the one the broody is sitting of hatch as well I am going to be overrun with chicks. I will only be keeping or or 5 so if you hear of someone wanting Welsummer chicks this should be hatching on the 18th.

Horrible. Just horrible. How can a parent kill their own child? I dont even have kids and still cant understand it.

I heard about it on the radio before I got home, but they didn't say it was in GR, then I turned on the TV and watched it most of the night. It's so weird to see somthing like that in GR. I know Ionia is a little ways away, but we go to GR every couple weeks and its just weird. It's a shame he had to kill 7 people before he killed himself.

ME!! ME!!! ME!!! MEEE!!!! I love our Welsummers!!!

SO, before I put them on CL I thought I'd mention I have four 1 week old muskovy mixed ducklings that are ready for new homes if anyone is interested. I can provide pics if needed.

Oh and on the chocolate thing...it reminded me of a friend of mine in high school who was highly allergic to chocolate. Every year on her birthday a bunch of us would give her chocolate related things (not real) like cards, mini Hershey kiss pillows, fake candy bars, etc. We'd even decorate her locker at school with chocolate related stuff lol.

I'm still pretty new to all this chicken wranglin'... My birds have been giving me smaller eggs than normal the last couple weeks. Today I was shocked to see this egg!

Hopefully this isn't anything I should worry about. Is this common??

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows of any chicken swap going on around Michigan? I just need to do a clean up, I have way too many chickens and chicks. My husband bought some chicks, I bought a few chicks and I hatched out chicks and keets. Babies are addicting, but they grow up. I told my husband we need to make a choice, which breed of chicks we want to keep and all of the others need to go.

I hate putting them on Craigs list I want to sale them to go to a good home. My husband went a little nuts this year.
