thanks for sharing, nice looking group.
Im glad I got that apron from you as I know I have 2 roos in the bunch now.
I got all mine put away for the night, left the Chante's out as they've been liking to roost on those old chain link fence pieces and it's lots cooler out in the breeze for them. The rocks and reds always put themselves in and up on the roost, so I close and lock their gate. Good night everyone and God Bless.

Thanks!
I am glad you like the apron. I am hoping to get some more made but I am resting up from my vacation

Your birds are beautiful! Goodnight!

So I went out to close coop doors and my DD says the head count is off. We are missing 2 banties. D'anver pullet and D'uccle cockeral are MIA. She scoured the ground with a flashlight with no luck. I decided to do a sweep with it pointing up. Sure enough they were roosted on the roof.

Gotta love those little fliers.

I finally got my little 6 week old BPR roo to let me hold him today without squawking. They are so hyper at this age, running around like little maniacs. He's such a cute little bugger and runs right up to the fence between the chicks and the big girls, stands up tall with all the confidence in the world. They are not impressed and look at him like, "You have GOT to be joking!"

I'm glad the humidity let up a bit tonight. Doesn't feel nearly as bad out there as it did last night. I cannot wait to snap out of this hot spell. My friend who lives in Alabama texted me today taunting me because Michigan was hotter today than Alabama.

The day is starting off just a little cooler than yesterday and I for one am all in favor of it being cooler. I'm working on what was supposed to be a simple deck top replacement job that has turned into a major rebuild of the house. When the house and deck were built 25 years ago the builder neglected to install a simple flashing between the house and the deck resulting in water being trapped behind the ledger. The rim joist on the house and the top plate of the wall below are rotted out and will have to be replaced. Plus the former owner never bothered to due any maintenance and the wood windows have rotted out as well. Replacing 20' of windows certainly wasn't an expense the new owners had not anticipated.

Opa...You know the song.."you picked a fine time to leave me Lucille?" It should go..."you picked a fine time to redo your deck!" Ay yi yi. Not good timing. Be aware of heat exhaustion signs. Raz too.
Chickaboom...I hope your hubby doesn't get deployed but if he does...God be with him and protect him.

Hill billy hen...I see you make the hen aprons. I've seen them...in fact I have two hens that could use them now. Are they hard to put on?? Made from cotton or oilcloth? Do you just throw them in the wash weekly and leave them on.....like ..forever?? Some of my hens could also use bonnets...it seems the roo grabs them at their head to mate so some have missing feathers on the tops!
