I finally figured out this is the proper address for my photography page on facebook!

"Liked" you both!

Yeah my older girls are slacking on the eggs too but I understand the heat must be affecting that.

The wait for my younger girls to lay is agonizing. They have bright red combs....but only one is squatting.

I don't think the heat has had much affect on my hens yet as their egg production hasn't lessened. One thing that very beneficial during hot weather is to fortify their water with Poultry Drench. Believe me it will greatly help them through this hot spell.

I ruined a batch of bread today. It turned into a lead loaf, dough! (haha, get it, doh=dough? Ah, nevermind, too lame!). Anyway, chickens are benefiting, but they can't have all at once! Today's treats led to one of the most hilarious things I've seen in a while! I stepped out on the back porch and called out that it was treat time. All the chickens came running, and the turkeys were bringing up the rear. They then ran over several chickens, literally, to get to the front of the line!

OMG it was just too much! The chickens were fine, and everybody got their treats, so happy ending!

Woo Hoo! I got a brown egg and a green egg today! I have been getting a small brown egg almost every day by 10:00 a.m., then the huge double yolkers for two days and today a green egg. The small brown eggs are from Scarlett but I think the double yolkers are from someone else. They have a completely different "finish" to them. And I have no idea which EE has started laying, but I'm happy!!

They made it through yesterday, but I sure was worried when I closed the door on them last night. It was 88 in the coop and they were all panting so hard. I kept standing there in the coop with them afraid to leave, then thought "well your big body is contributing to the heat, so get out dufus!!" So much better tonight, thank God.

Is that the same as Pedialyte? I had some extra so I put some in their water a couple times this week. What exactly is Poultry Drench? I don't think I've ever seen it!

While it does some of the same things that Pedialyte will it is better formulated from poultry, less salts and the sugars more readily absorbed in their system. Tractor Supply carries it.
