Jenerva, birds affected with gape worm will stretch out their necks and gasp (gape) for air and will occasionally shake their heads. They tend to be emaciated and weak . The ynormally keep their eyes closed with their heads pulled back against their and are reluctant to move.

Given the paralysis exhibited I would tend to agree with Wynette.

I have two ee hens but love the blue eggs myself and plan to breed them to Idiot(my new cockeral) in the spring so I can have more beautiful blue eggs. They lay really nice sized, smooth ones and are very consistant. Hope you find a couple of colored layers.

Jenerva, sorry about your bird. If you really think it gape you will need to use a wormer that specifically says it treats it. Worminator from Twin City Poultry Supply comes to mind.

Best wishes for your flock.

Back up and running. My computer's video card took a dump this morning, so I threw two other computers together and made a super computer. Ha.

Anyone having computer problems, and needs some help, feel free to message me.

What a perfect specimen. Light tan, smooth, laid in the nest box. Maybe a little smaller than a store medium size but I'm happy as can be.

Oh my, that was a tasty egg!

Nice orange yolk standing tall, did not break "over easy".

Made me hungrier. Fried some store bought eggs...flat yellow yolk...needs salt and pepper.

I'm officially spoiled now!
