These pictures really don't show how big he really is...

Jen - Opa made me a very nice tie cord to tie my rooster up at Chickenstock. What a handsome boy he is, kind of looks like a velociraptor (sp?) or something!

The chickenms are not as hard on the grass as my dogs are. But I found a seed at TSC that works real well. Their "pasture mix" looks to be doing well. The seed is from Ferry Morse.
I bought a 50 lb. bag and have been sowing it every other day and it is sprouting pretty well in both the dog area and the bare patches in the chicken run. I'll keep putting it down until I run out.

I have a 1 yr old leghorn who is unstable on her feet - has difficulty getting up - I was able to catch her because she couldn't get far before she sat down again - wattle very bright and healthy looking, she's eating/drinking fine - just noticed her behavior this afternoon - I have separated her from the flock - anyone ever have a similar issue? - thanks

I havent posted in a bit. My stepdaughter got married yesterday and it has been insane.

My fear has materialized.
The city inspectors were at the house behind me on Thursday- and caught me unaware out in the yard. Of course my honking crew spied the man and started announcing their presence. He spoke with me and told me that I couldnt have farm animals. I said they are pets...really I was just buying time while the wheels in my head were spinning. He didnt care. Let me know how I am not allowed to keep them- and I blubbered like a baby and told him how I NEED them, and how they give me peace and therapy and how I dont do anything wrong in the neighborhood, put up with all this crap, blahblahblah snifflesniffle snot slobber...and I guess he felt sorry for me- a grown woman sobbing like a baby in the backyard hugging a goose. So, he told me that he would be back out on the 30th to finish with his inspection and if I had found a home for my geese by then, he would not call animal control (reminded me of fines for keeping them, seizure, etc)...

I didnt thank him. I glared at him. He tried to make himself sound like he was being helpful to me- but he is my worst enemy now. He did NOT see my chickens- the plus side of constant broodies- he didnt mention not being allowed to have them (okay, technically farm animals , etc...I KNOW chickens are illegal- but if he doesnt see them, they dont exist).

What am I supposed to do? How do I rehome Henry and Penelope and Libby? How do I do that and find a place where they wont be eaten???

My spirit is broken.

So sorry to hear your sad story. Maybe someone near will be willing to take them. You could try posting an ad on here? Do you have any friends that would willing to take them? If I could I would but I can't. Maybe hid them in the house/basement when he comes back. Good luck with this and I hope it has a happy ending, for you and your little trio!
