What a cute picture of mama hen and chicks! With cold weather around the corner....will you have to use additional heat for them or just let mama take care of keeping her youngsters warm? I have never hatched chicks this late so wondered ......

Happy Thursday! I guess Fall has really come to Michigan with the cooler temps and the rain.....I don't mind, I like fall. I just hope we can enjoy it for a little while before it gets too cold!

Cute pict of the Shug and her babies! I love it when the hens hatch their own. My chicks are finally on their own, guess mom thinks her job is done. I think she stayed with them for two nights when they moved back into the coop and now she's moved up to roost with the big birds. Unfortunatly of the 11 chicks... only 3 are hens. One is being given to a friend at work, the rest will go to freezer camp!

The grass is pretty much spent for the year so we'll have to start them on hay and grain soon so they'll have to go by the end of the month. Good Morning! It's a beautiful day outside. Had a great visit with AngelaB. Her lil niece is so adorable and loved the chickens. She's training lil Adison to be a chicken lover, and looks like she's doing a good job at it. She kept saying "chicken". She's only a year old!! Have a good one, all!
