Thank you. I don't know about Olivet playing Maple Valley but I went to Bellevue and I know we played Maple Valley. Oh the good old days. Lol. I already bought myself an early Christmas present from here. I bought some Black Copper Marans hatching eggs. They are in the incubator right now. Everytime I get on here my husband says "Now what are you looking for?". I just laugh at him.

Hey Wynette! How's it going. I'm glad I didn't have to go into work. I got to stay home and play with the chickens.

Stacy, your goat is adorable!! I just love goats.
Well, the sun peeked out. Let the chickens out into the yard. Not much grass to peck at, but thought they might enjoy being able to walk on sidewalk and driveway and enjoy some sun. The run is one big muddy mess.

RBahmer, ever consider getting icelandic chickens to match your sheep?

Yes I have. When I find some in the spring or maybe I can find some hatching eggs. But I would love to have a few. My best friends family is from Iceland. I love to hear her mother talk.

First thing this morning my daughter told me she was going out to let the chickens out. She went out, was out there for a bit, came back in. This afternoon I was re-bedding pig pens and all the sudden I realize there are only a couple of chickens meandering about. I'm looking all over wondering where they are when I glance past the coop and notice the door is still shut. Apparently, when she went out this morning, the latch was frozen shut and she couldn't get it open, but also didn't think to mention it to me. So I thought they were out all day and they were locked up. They have food and water in there so it's not a big deal but they were happy to see me this afternoon.

Well my shopping is done! Wynette....nice to see you pop on this thread...I have been lurking on the Plymouth rock thread and saw that you have silver pencilled! I think you and I have the same taste in chickens! I love the Ameracaunas also! HOWEVER....I am just happy to have healthy chickens at this time.
Several of my girls are laying now...and one of them is ignoring my 3 nest boxes (with fake eggs inside) and laying....well..."wherever". I have my suspicions it is one of my jersey splashes! They have rebel personalities and will fly up high to avoid the amorous roo whenever possible...and one has given me the "stink eye" when I am checking for eggs in the boxes.

Stacykins...I love your goat! I am envious.
