Rbahmer, sorry about your friend,Might look up this prod. my friend has re-accuring lymphoma and has been fighting it for 10yrs or more; now. some place along the line she found this prod. and started taking it. A co worker has re-acuring cancer, is now in his lungs. quit work 3 mo. ago was told that would be it for him he started tacking it and seems to be doing well so far. Not a miracle treatment but at sum point you don't want to do treatments anymore. And this seems to help. it is essiac, you can google it and read up. A lot of prays also.
welcome to the new MI's glad to have you here. I free range less this time of year. try to be home and keep a watch, rooster does a good job also. predators seem to be more of a problem ,fall through winter. I have a big run and open only when I am home.
quick question, has any one used flubenvet? wormer sold out of UK..... no egg withdraw needed?? Thinking about ordering some to try in the spring

Thank you. I will look it up. We are hoping for her to get well enough to move her back here. She told me yesterday that if she can get well enough she will just walk away from everything there and move back home. I told her I will move her back here anytime she is ready. She has been a part of my family for 31 years and she can live here with us.

My husband says the same thing. I think he's just afraid he won't hear his alarm clock if he has to sleep on the sofa though. And by "on the sofa" I absolutely mean "in the dog house". It's a small dog house and not well insulated though so he might still hear it.

Glad it cheered you up RBahmer. Just catching up on posts here. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Have a good trip, I hope you both are able to make some nice memories while you're there.

Unrelated, in reading the other replies about free-ranging I realized I didn't actually say what we do. It's becoming ever more clear why my mother insists I've died my hair (blonde) to match my brain.

We free-range dawn to dusk 365 days a year, whether I'm here or not, inside or out. Until this fall we didn't even have a run, it has been used exactly once since we put it up and that was just for the "paid" help's convenience when I was out of state.

I have been inspired by Opa and Raz to keep track of eggs this coming year. While looking for an egg chart I liked I was looking through a web site I use regularly and realized you all might like the link. This was a site recommended to me by the MSU vet for good solid information. If you click on Publications it has information for diseases, biosecurity, all about eggs...production and hatching, wind and snow control that I was just reading! Anything you need to know. It's not just for the new eggs - Every time I go back I end up reading and learning something new.

I also free range my birds but since I have different breeds now, I will rotate which flock gets let out from day to day. Yesterday it was the Black Austrolorps, today it is the Delawares and EE's.
Yesterday for the first time I got eggs from all 7 of my Delaware girls. Two of the are double yolk eggs. The largest is 3 & 1/4 ozs and the next largest is just under 3 ozs. Those poor girls.

and :to for remission! Have a safe trip and keep your spirits up. She's going to need rocks right now.

Buffy is still on her eggs. YAY! I made the girls a new no and they are happy again. Lol

Thanks for the site Tap. I am a freak, and I like learning new things about chicken care etc... Which is why I joined byc. Everyone here understands and do not roll eyes. Lol.

Good Morning! Tried to post earlier and it wouldn't let me!

Someone trying to tell me something???
So sorry about your friend, RBahmer. It's so hard to loose a loved one. Hope your visit will bring happiness to both of you. Bittersweet.
Welcome Bianca! Great place to meet so many nice people. Hope to see you at Chickenstock.
It's fun to keep track of your eggs. Amazing to see how many eggs are actually laid, well, when they start laying again!

One of my splashes that I got at chickenstock must of heard my lectures on laying, cuz she laid her first egg yesterday!! Was surprised cuz I haven't noticed her squatting at all. Now, hopefully, her sister will start laying soon. The two BO I got from shelleyb are still broody. My BR is molting. Buttercup is finally getting her feathers in.
Well, off to Lansing for a x-Mervynite luncheon. Working at Mervyns's I made some good friends and we still get together the first Monday of the month. Since last week was a holiday, we're having it today. It's a blast to see my ol buds.
Have a good day, and take care.....
