My oldest son, the chicken enabler, had to go to Oklahoma today for business and was going to stop on the way home to look at and probably buy a trio of spangled hamburgs and a pair of cream brabanters that he thinks would be great additions to my rainbow flock. He has had black australorps for years and has been very happy with how they have performed for him but after seeing my birds when he was here last month he has decided he is going to start replacing some of his hens with more colorful ones. His wife agrees with me that looking at a variety of birds adds to the chicken experience; that there is more to be gained from raising chicken than just eggs.
