Just made Peanut Butter Bars for dessert tonight...taught my girls how to make them, so now I suspect they will be a regular in my house. lol.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the butter or margarine, graham cracker crumbs, confectioners' sugar, and 1 cup peanut butter until well blended. Press evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a metal bowl over simmering water, or in the microwave, melt the chocolate chips with the peanut butter, stirring occasionally until smooth. Spread over the prepared crust. Refrigerate for at least one hour before cutting into squares.

Yes, that is exciting for me! LOL.
I did not candle. I just picked up the whole nestbox and listened to the eggs one at a time real careful to leave them the side up that they are right now and I hear the Skeeter/Fluffers baby!
Nothing from any of the others yet.
I really want to hear something from the Buffy eggs.
Being anxious and impatient, I went thread searching to see the longest/latest someone has had eggs hatch. There are chicks hatching as late as 28 days. Not ducks, but CHICKS! SO, I am going to leave them alone unless Leila gets off of them, and if she does, maybe I can pretend I am in washington and hatch them in my bra. LOL. I am thinking they'd stay warm enough there. LOL

BUT I HEAR CHIRPING!

Mom - I hope Beeper is doing better! Keep up the good work.

Nova - Keep the snow down your way! DH got called in yet again today, but not because of accumulation, it was the 30 mile an hour winds that did it this time.

Raz - Not on your food theme but there's Beauty and Beast or Vulcan and Venus

Today was not a normal restful Sunday. There was lot's going on. Usually I get a few calm minutes to plan out my upcoming week, but not today! Now things are quiet but I am not motivated to look at the rest of the week.

I did candle my eggs again and removed one that had done nothing. I could see growth in the other 5 but only one little guy actually moving around - my little Polish! As much as I hate waiting the time really does go fast, I'm only a week away from hatch day!

Thanks for the good reading the evening, I think it was 5 pages.

The crazy thing taprock, is that in a days its supposed to be back up near 40! This is the weirdest winter that I can remember. I hope we have a nice spring.

I want to start my seedlings already. I know. It really is too early... BUT, I am allowed to want. LOL

its so exciting, itsnt it?

taprock-
..thanks. I force-fed her and filled her crop tonight for bedtime. She fussed, but too bad. She dove right in to her food bowl- but I know hardly anything is going actually DOWN . But I DO know that she is going to bed with a full crop tonight.
Just do what I can do, and hope for the best. She definitely is weak, and needs nutrition. Maybe more than I can give her- but I just dont understand how a chick can make it for six and a half weeks and then just pbbbllllltttt out.
