Can't remember who asked about the Polish roo, but I don't think there's any good news, unfortunately. This seems to be a consistent problem with polish roos and either the people separate them for good or they end up bullied to death. You can try cutting his top knot back completely and see if it helps him see better, but their temperament seems to be such that they end up in this position a lot. Good Luck!

I went out looking for the peacock this morning, still not able to find him. I will let the others free range in hopes of the flyaway hearing his flockmates if he survived the night.

Good luck Daron, I hope you find him.

I have to agree, the new site mechanics have gremlins....well after reading all the posts concerning the weather all I can say is wait and see. The "experts" predicted a harsh, very cold, winter which has not happened yet. Last summer was the 11th hottest in history. No one year (here in the Muskegon area), for the last 10 years, has been consistent weather-wise. My hope is the sap runs good in another month, there is just enough rainfall, and sun, to grow my gardens, and my rabbits don't need too many "ice days". BTW, it is still possible to get heavy lake effect snow due to the lack of ice cover on lake Michigan. A little too late?

HH, I am sending you a PM about sexing chicks (just for fun).

Thanks uchytil

I too have been having the gremlins here. I am looking forward to summer.

SWEET!

Raz, that is so cool about the little chickadees!

And.... I forget what else I was going to post

Nova -- What problems do you have with them? What are the symptoms? Different fixes for different problems so it'd help to narrow it down a little.

Sounds like they bolted. They're a cool weather crop, different varieties have different capacity to tolerate heat, but most any will bolt if it gets really warm out. They have to be planted either early or as a fall crop. Many people have more success in the fall.

Creepy question. How do you get a rack off a dead dear?? Krisrose has a dead deer in her field and my grand kids would love the rack? Tugged, but nothing.....

Hmmmm, how decomposed is it?

If it's mostly intact, and assuming you don't want to mess with more than just the rack, I'd take a mallet and pry bar out and whack/pry them off.

It's been in the field for a few weeks. Weird that nothing is eating them. There are actually 2. Ok, might just wait until there's nothing left. Can't see me taking a hacksaw to a dead animal.
Sunny and pretty out. Enjoy the day.
