I am up to SIX babies now...and more with pips..they didnt get the memo that they arent due yet..or maybe its because some are supposed to be Serama crosses..I dunno...I have two black, two yellow, and one grey and yellow splashed...sooooooooooooooooooo cute.

Looks like the last 3 eggs aren't going to hatch :( too bad cause I know there's formed chicks that just didn't make it. Here's our little hatch....2 showgirls and 2 bearded! The one showgirl is either a blue or a blue/white splash!

Do you mean the Bratwurst festival in Bucyrus? :)

Buzzard Day is a hoot. I used to go when I lived in Ohio.

It seemed like every little town had some celebration weekend all year long, Tomato Festival, Popcorn Festival, Bratwurst Fest, etc. I think it was just an excuse to block of Main street and allow public drinking. Sure was fun.

Oh crap. I found a thread with a link to this site http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044

and besides MG and MS there are a huge number of diseases! Make me almost want to stick my head in the sand and give up poultry raising.

But not quite yet. So far I've been lucky? I guess and haven't lost a bird to any diseases that I know of anyway. Unless you can call minks and hawks and foxes and my neighbor's dog a disease?

Thanks for the heads up.

You can look up MG on BYC. It is a respiratory illness that we currently cannot cure when our flocks get it. It becomes a chronic problem for the flock and is highly contagious so an infected flock puts the wild birds and the other chickens in the community at risk, even after the flock has been treated and the symptoms have disappeared.

Adorable!!!

Welcome! Your pretty close! I'm just below the bridge.

I'm in Emmet, This is my reminder to PM you later.

Thanks I appreciate it.

Don't get jealous everyone back in Michigan but I am in Florida its cloudy but still 74 nice an warm. Now to go to the beach
That's OK just don't post any pics of the ocean, sandy beaches, palm trees or those hot guys in speedos with those fancy drinks with the little umbrellas in their hands!

Too cute!

I'm trying to jump start the Easy Garden Michigan thread over on the sister site if anyone is interested. It's been woefully neglected. So come on over if anyone wants to talk gardening because they're freshly poultry'd out!

Glad to hear this. I found the site last fall, joined and got a few good tips but found it very slowwwwww and not as active as the BYC site nor as much FUN!!

Dont give up on them, yet, Jen- they may just be late!

I have two broodies they are still sitting. The eggs didnt come from Theron today- so maybe tomorrow...but I think I will put those eggs under both of them, and that way if the one gets up early, I can stick her eggs under the other broody.
