Oh Yaaa...... me too

Sorry to hear about your husbands job. I understand what not being able to sell the house you moved from is like too. We moved from Georgia a year ago, and we are still making payments on our house in GA. The home has been on the market for a year and we haven't even gotten a single low-ball offer yet. We have been trying to rent it since October...no luck w/ that yet either. Had somebody come by this morning and they seemed interested, but we will see how it goes. Hang in there. Still hoping to make it out your way for a visit later this week or next if that is still OK.
I moved from Georgia 23 years ago

That's half my life.

Lots of folks including me have brought bantams to Chickenstock in years past. You might want to go to the Buy/sell/trade link for Chickenstock and let folks know what you are looking for

Unless you are exaggerating that a lot of bluebirds. One ton divided by 1.1 ounce equals 2909.9 bluebirds. Like I said that's a lot of birds.

I will only bring whatever I have orders for so if anyone wants chicks from me they need to let me know a month in advance that way I will have a week to collect eggs and then time to incubate them.

Well, another bath for the two banties. Sure hard to get rid of those fowl mites. I think this is their fourth bath. Put on ivermectin last week, but still there are lots of mites. Especially hard to get them out of the Polish's crest. These things are teeny tiny babies, so maybe a couple of more baths and get them all gone. Krisrose did go to TSC and get some pyrmethrin and we're gonna try that. Fuzzy, you said 2 parts prymethrin to 1 part water, right?? One drop on banties. Krisrose was concerned that it was too strong for the banties. Put some bag balm on their poor lil heads to soothe and hopefully smother them darn things. Getting tired of bathing and cleaning their coop. Lots of work, but those poor chix are so miserable. The other banty is a favorelle. Use to be one of Krisrose's house chickens. When Lacy died, I got Sophie. She's now an outdoor chicken and loving it. So, Krisrose is over here making sure I'm taking care of "her" chix.

Nova, hope you get rid of the leg mites easier than these blasted fowl mites.

Good luck

Just heard a happy story about a rooster I re-homed last year. He saved the flock.

The Father went out to the coop to let everyone out in the morning and found an almost dead raccoon and the roo with just some missing feathers and light scratches. He locks the coop at night and thinks the raccoon must have already been in there. The rooster must get his smarts and toughness from Mom - Isa Brown, because Dad is a very sweet, meek, Silkie.

On pinkeye, when my son had it his pediatrician said to put neosporin ointment in his eyes. This was before they had the pain reliever kind so I would asume that you should not use that kind. But it worked. Only use it at night before going to bed though since you won't be able to see very well with.

Careful not to use too many types of chemicals at once!

It's been a over a week since we used the ivermectin (?) Should I wait a bit longer before using the other, or stick with the ivermectin. Just didn't think it was working. I've used it twice. Forgive me, I grew up in Chicago, what is "barn spray"? I have cleaned the coop and sprayed it. Chickens were kept in the brooder in the garage. Cleaned that today and sprayed it today before they went back in there. Thanks for all your help.

Hello from west Michigan,
I live on 10 acres here about a mile north of the Muskegon River with my loving, patient husband, 2 beautiful children, 2 horses, a dog, 4 black copper marans, 1 wagon riding silver laced cochin, 4 chicks in the brooder and 24 eggs in the bator......counting the days and loving this warm weather!
