Just make sure that they have red earlobes and willow legs....unless that does not matter to you....so many Pyncheons are crossed with other breeds or were man made (terrible replicas)...I did get some nice males (to help w/fertility) from Jody....I wanted another bloodline....great type.....all have blue or white legs.......I know she is still working on her bloodline and has just started with the breed. I've had mine for 15 years......I'm breeding for small size...smaller combs...red earlobes and willow legs....(per the standard). I hatch few...but they are showable....I do get the occasional white in lobes and off colored legs....I will keep these ONLY if they have some other great attribute. I've kept 37 breeders...waiting on my girls to get laying...cold up here I also have Shetland Ducks....got a couple eggs last week from them....Jody has some nice birds to get started with...they are small and typie....GREAT HEADS....If you plan to show them...you'll just have to make sure for earlobes and legs to be the correct color. You would not show a Leghorn w/red earlobes or an Orpington w/yellow legs.....same goes for the Pyncheons. Hope this helps, Regards, Rusty

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about getting some Standard Blue Cochin chicks - anybody have a local source or other info I should know before I order on-line? I currently have 3 Buff orps and 3 SLW's...
Thanks!
Cathy

I do various poultry..pigeons...pretty much everything and anything....I love detail...I work in colored pencil and pen. You can e-mail me and I can send you some photos of my work...(?) [email protected] Do you have something in mind to have drawn? Regards, Rusty

Thanks for the welcomes. I'm not sure about hatching eggs, I've never done that; and although I'm a biologist and a science teacher I'm not an eggologist or a chickenologist, so I'm not sure how that would go, if you know what I mean.

eeeeeeeeeep! Does she really? You should not tell me that- I am going to her house on Saturday...a week from today. I will be tempted now.

Hi All!!!
Welcome to the new ones:welcome
It is such a beautiful day that I have just been out and about enjoying it.
Cleaned out my little Momma silkie pen, and decided the big coop outdoors can wait awhile longer.

In two more weeks, I will try putting the Momma and her 3 babies out with the rest. The last batch she had are all her size already. She had 4 then. They are all white.
I hope you all have a great day!!!
