Anyone who may be interested, Ultimate fitness here in Holland has a special going on. (THINK I WILL JOIN), $14 a month, no contract. Oh yeah! I can handle 14 a month. I hate working out at home. I never seem to be able to do it. Kids want to get on the elliptical with me, or the aero glide.. But 14 a month! WOW.
Nova, just pay by cash each month. I gave a fitness group here in G.R. my credit card and they would not stop charging me when I asked to have my membership cancelled. I finally had to call my credit card company and they forced them to stop charging me. It was a big scandle involving many people here in G.R. and they are still in business. Just pay each month on the due date but don't give them a check or debit card or credit card number...........and they are going to want you to......they want to automatically debit your account or your card.

Raining really hard here. Thunder and lightening. Needed the rain.
Angela, sorry about your chicks. It's frustrating when you don't know the why. Hope the rest of them do good.
Mom....TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!!

Nancy, I am hoping that she is pure faverolle. She is starting to look it. That would mean then, that Roger got 2 different hens. I am really hoping that is the case. She really has all the right and proper faverolle hen/pullet traits. So, I think that I was right about Buffy having one egg that was pure, but with the constant changing of colors, I got her and the ugly chick mixed up. And the black silkie mix came from one of the other eggs. OMG! I was so sure I had them all strait! And that would explain why the black silkie mix is so much smaller than the Ugly chick... WHO I should stop calling the Ugly chick since I have named her Belle Mai.(pronounced My).

As for the fitness club, if they will not take cash payments I wouldn't do it. I do not believe in revolving payments except for my utilities and house payment.

I understand that treadmills make great clothes racks.

swampducks The newest forecast is making me nervous though, Sunday night 32, Monday night 28. My lilacs and roses have started leafing out. This may not be pretty.

I don't know what kind you have, but my austin kept it's leaves even after getting snowed on. I would think if you covered it it would be ok, i have snapdragons that got snowed on and didn't die, so i covered them and they are still quite alive! I will probably cover stuff at night, just in case of frost shock. Btw, i don't remember who asked, but yes, my little "twig" is in shade, with a couple hours dappled sun each day. I planted it in a sandy mix of garden soil, and cut the bottom off the pot after watering, so i can't overwater. 2 twigs left, 1 more down, but the buds on these 2 are holding strong though not progressing....

Juise, I love love love coffee. I am also an instant gratification kinda girl. Lol. It'll have to be ready when I get there! Lol.

But, Nova... cold press takes 24 hours!

Which is why I don't get around to it much, lol. But it is super great. Especially for a person who routinely has acid reflux issues, omg especially during pregnancy, this process cuts almost all of the acid out of the coffee. It is sooo smooth and delicious. I make a gallon at a time, which makes I don't even know how many cups of coffee. Many. You just pour some into your cup and add water, hot or cold. It is the best ever for cold or iced coffee drinks.

The rest of the time I grind fresh beans just before making coffee, with, of course, a burr, not blade, grinder,

and make my coffee in a french press. It doesn't really take much longer, if longer at all, than it takes a drip pot to make, it is just the time it take to boil water in the kettle. Unless you have one of those drip pots you can set to make your coffee for you before you get up. Which is almost tempting, but there is just no comparison in the quality of your coffee! Now that I have been spoiled rotten and gotten rather snobby about my coffee, (I even took a coffee 101 course which was very cool!) drinking coffee from a drip pot tastes like drinking warmed up, weak, dirt water.

I also have an espresso machine with a steamer and frother. What? No, I do not have a problem!

I bet. What I meant though, was you were talking about planting from seeds. Jerusalem artichokes are pretty much fool proof, you just need to grow them from tuber divisions.

Ugh, maybe I will have to find some tubers. I haven't even gotten the blasted seeds to sprout.

Its not a cougar... its not a cougar...(say this in an Schwarzenegger voice)

We are positive we had cougars out back a couple years ago. Saw huge cat tracks, i mean huge, and it covered it's "stuff", so we are pretty sure. A year after we saw the tracks, someone down the road apparently hit one, though it was not covered publicly for some reason. It never bothered us, but even before we saw the tracks, you would get really creeped out in the woods at nighfall, and we are not easily spooked in the woods. Needless to say, after that we don't go out alone, or without at least letting someone know. Never saw the tracks again after the one was hit. We were bummed, cause we liked it.

Also My mom lived up north the last several years, and she came face to face with one while getting my youngest sis on the bus. Didn't have her walk to the corner after that!!! (Don't quote me, but i think that was in Alpena) Luckily the dog scared it away by barking.
