Thanks Mutt, that's what I was thinking too, but never got one before. Haven't cracked it yet so don't know if it has a yolk or not.

Had to cull my grey call drake this morning. He could not shake the rapid breathing despite a vet trip and two rounds of Baytril. I broke his neck and hoped I did it quickly enough. It seemed to take forever.....
sad day.

I'm so sorry UN, I haven't had to do that yet and dread the day.

I had 7 eggs under each of my barney. 5 developed under each at canoeing time. Both panties and large eggs.

With the talk about Weeping Cherry Trees the other day I said that I didn't think I ever saw any. Well tonight when driving I saw hundreds of blossoming Cherry and I did notice quite a few Weeping. Guess I never paid that much attention to them as to which type they were. The one I saw this weekend when traveling south was huge, really huge. Much larger than any of the ones I saw in town this evening.

Yea, keep your fingers crossed for me on that one, I hope so!!

And I would love to take your keets, but I barely have time for the pets I do have right now, w/my externship starting next week. Trying to work 30 hours/wk plus 24 hrs/wk of extership is gonna be pretty tough, on top of taking care of my animals and my man and the house. Hope I can find some time to sleep and eat, lol. I will see if anyone I know would like them too and let you know if I find anyone who might be interested. Whereabouts in west MI ar e you located?

My silkie eggs I ordered arrived at the post office today...going to swing in and pick them up after work and throw them in the bater when I get home. Crossing my fingers they made it through shipping unharmed. I put about 30 of my own in the bator yesterday so hopefully we'll be hearing lots of peeping going on at my house in a couple weeks!

Well Jen, if they made it thru the shipping I don't think they would make it thru being thrown in the bator

Yes, the mom and dad are sand with fawn at the nape. They are adorable parents and I'm sure the offspring will be also. At one week old it's too soon to tell what clor phase they will be. The babies are scentless and camoflaged for protection. Anyway, they are beauties and anyone that is interested should drop me a PM. I think Laura should take two

So sorry, you did what you could.

I had 7 eggs under each of my barney. 5 developed under each at canoeing time. Both panties and large eggs. I chucked 2 that had no development from under one, and 2 that started but quit from under the other.
Leila is broody again. I have to break her. She has not gained enough weight back. Her breast bone is very sharp. I am going to try and get a poop sample, I think she may have worms, as she is eating A LOT but still awful thin.
