Woke this morning with my mouth swollen. I'm not surprised, just wondering why it hurts worse after than before but I guess I need to think long term. So I get some antibiotics later.

My lazy morning started with watching Lord of the Rings with my son. Then he had square dancing lessons at noon. The kids all do a great job as do the musicians.

TC - love the painting!

Raz - my DH had surgery several years back for herniated disks. It took care of the problem but his back has never been the same. He never knows when to stop - maybe it's a guy thing. When his back is really bad he takes motrin like candy. Me - if I take two motrin someone else should be driving!

Enjoy the RAIN everyone!

Thanks for the picture -- and the perspective. Makes it seem not nearly so bad down here. It may be cool and rainy, but the grass is GREEN and a few inches tall and some of the trees are well on their way to leaves.

Wow you guys......you can tell the weather is yucky because everyone is inside chatting!!

Positive thinking is supposed to work. With that in mind I need everyone to think positive about my winning the lottery tonight. The only reason I am asking is so that I can buy everyone a new chicken and Laura a new coop.

I'm NOT being greedy or ungrateful but I would really like a barn instead!

Morning! I am going to Fowlfest too

We should come up with something to put on us that identifies ourselves as Michigan Thread people! Hmmmmm...any ideas? I'd hate to think that a bunch of us had the chance to meet in person and didn't take advantage of it
Name tags or we could say what we'll be wearing....like a certain T-shirt. That is what I did when I met Chickflick & Krisrose last fall.

Hello! I will put you on my prayer list! I keep a list of people to pray for (Mom2's healing, Nova's headache, Hope's stepdad's neighbors, RaZ's leg and back) and I will add you to the list!

Now here is the funny part! I never believed in prayer and I am a real 'do it yourselfer'.......so in every hard time I would do all that I could to 'fix' things. That's exhausting. And then I came up against things I couldn't fix anymore (my mom's dementia, my husband's brain cancer, my dad's leukemia) and so I prayed. And guess what? Really nice stuff happened. And I realized that prayer works, not to make things go our way, but somehow it has an effect.

And how easy is it when you are driving or in the bath tub or falling asleep to let your mind drift over all the needs of others and wish them many blessings? It's easy! So michickenwrangler, you are on my list!

X2 here.......prayer works wonders....even for unanswered ones!

As long as we're putting in orders, I could really use a new barn.
If he wins I'm sure he can manage 2!

We are registered for Alma as well. It would be nice to meet you, MSue and RIRJen. Name tag with our handle? Whatcha thing?
See previous post and this cartoon is funny!!

They said on the news yesterday that your odds of being killed by flesh eating bacteria is greater than your odds of winning that jackpot.

RaZ, I'm sure your neighbor would love to give you a massage!

OK I'm hi jacking the thread with the multi quote button....sorry! It only allows so many...lol.

This weather is really for the penguins! I had to put a piece of OSB board on the top of the brooder because it's so dang cold. Trying to kinda hold the heat down in there. Chicks look fine but the temp was 5 degrees less than what is suggested for their age.

I did buy a lotto ticket....an easy pic. The only time I ever gamble is when the jack pot gets big....really big.....I work too hard for my money and refuse to waste it!

I don't know if it's a guy thing or not. I know when to stop but sometimes I just don't. I did stop the other day at the first "pang" but that didn't help. I was feeling better today so I went to the grocery store for a few things.

I bought some cheap wine. They had 4-packs of little bottles, so I bought a few to see if there was one that I might like. I prefer beer but I haven't been drinking much for quite a while. It's going to be strange to do yard work without a beer in hand. There is a reason they put beer holders on the yard tractor.

I bought my retirement ticket.

Ooh, a hail storm just blasted through here.

My DH is the same way and only time he actually stops is when it really hurts....always on the move. Have you tried hanging on an inverted table....I think that's what you call it. DH says it really helps and he soaks in a really hot tub with a beer & magazine in hand.

I've been through two divorces, I guess I am a slow learner, and I have yet to figure just how they system works. They supposedly split everything down the middle but then give her the bigger half.

I was married to the first one for 10 years, the second for 9, and Hope, significant other, has been here 22. I guess I do SO better than DH.

Because of my sons I still have occasional contact with my first wife. Each time I do I find myself looking heavenward and thinking "Thank you Jesus."

As wife #3, I can say with full confidence that third times the charm!

DH was married for 2 years the first time and 7 years the second time. We are heading for our 11th anniversary so he had already beat the odds this time. I occasionally remind him that had he made a different choice all those years ago when we dated while I was in high school, he could have saved himself lots of headaches....instead it took him 15 years to figure out that I was really who he wanted to be married to!!

Whereas my DH uses the pain in his back, tells me it's osteoarthritis, to do nothing all day but sit on his recliner, play spider solitary, research his genealogy, and just be a wastrel. I even serve him his dinner in his chair

Occasionally, he goes to his hunting camp, shoots deer (in season) and cuts firewood. For some reason, his back doesn't bother him as much then. I can hardly ever get him to hit the hot tub with me at all. I think we've been in twice all winter!

Good thing I like this guy.

I have one and it does help. I didn't use it this time because I'm here alone and was concerned that I might get stuck in it since I was barely able to move.

I loved my first 2 wives, the third was evil personified!

So I'm at "three strikes and yer out" status. Unless I go into extra innings...
