Jaime! It's called lockdown for a reason. Step. Away. From. The. Bator. LOL! ;)

Man, I'm being lazy today. I tell you, if my youngest hadn't zonked out on me after I put her to work I think I'd make the 30 minute drive to the nearest restaurant just to pick up take out so I don't have to cook. LOL!

I am too, I had so many things I wanted to get done today. Instead I played with the dog outside for a while, came in and took a nap, took the chicks outside for their first field trip ("No, no I can't do any work or anything, I have to sit here in the sun and keep an eye on the chicks!") and now I'm wondering if I knit while I sit outside if it counts as "doing something productive" so the day isn't a total waste.

Congrats to the new peep keepers!

I cant get used to the .... my memory is really bothering me past few days....the THING that is used instead of the red lamp. From Brinsea.

I look in there,,,no chicks visible.

I just went out and dug all the eggs out from under my broody hen. I have been letting her sit for two weeks...How long have the Uggos been gone? I have eggs due in one week from the Uggos. They have been gone three weeks, I thought.

ANYHOW-
I candled the eggs under her for spite. I plan on putting my eggs due next week under her. Well. She has eggs of all stages of development.
I put them in the incubator even though I thought I was going to be done done done incubating. Been going on since December.

There are tiny little black blobs dancing in the eggs that seem to only be a few days into incubation. All the way up to dark egg I cant see inside of.

How long do hens stay fertile after the roos are gone?

I did manage to get a little bit done today. Cleaned up goose and alpaca poop and took it to the compost, gathered up spent hay and put it by the onion beds so I can mulch, cleaned off the table on the deck and rearranged my herb pots, rubbed pig bellies, swept the deck, cleaned the kitchen, washed our sheets, watered the onions and potatoes, and watched a tom turkey chase his reflection around the car for a while.

Not to worry, he eventually won the stand off.

ETA: I almost forgot the most important accomplishment of the day... I made a honey do list for The Man.

2-3 Weeks.

Well, then they sure are hanging on to those last sperm cells.. *sigh*. So, I have eggs that will be hatching willy-nilly.

I kicked the 3.5 week olds out today. They are in the coop. They dont know its the real deal yet, but they are out. Heat lamp out there for their convenience.

The ten little showgirls and fluff are tucked in nicely. In the kitchen brooder.

Olive, you sure did accomplish more than I did today.

Had a rough week, so am thrilled to have 37 chicks out so far! STILL can't post from my computer, and can't do pics on my phone, so no pictures yet. But they are sooo cute!
Taprock, I split the eggs you saved for me with a friend (kind of ran out of incubator space

Chicks! I can't wait to see the pictures.

Babigyrl - cute babies!

I just can't believe DH got me chicks for Easter. As much as he's on my case about them he bought them for me. I was complaining earlier in the year that I wanted WCB Polish but didn't want to buy 25 so....
