Now you are starting to sound like any of my ex-wives.

Raz, I'm hurt.

I'm not certain about using the guaze, but for an open wound I usually rub a bit of neosporin on it first and put the injured one in a small crate for a bit. After a few hours, I blu-cote the wound and have never had wound pecking issues after that.

Thanks, she's still separated. I put some blu-cote on her throat (and my hands, and her shoulder, and half her head and her eye...). I tried to put her back in with the others and it was really weird, they all just arrayed themselves around her and stared at her and then one went for her throat again. I'll try again in the morning. Poor thing.

I had over 100 posts to read, got half way through and was interrupted. I came back to find my window had been closed by some well meaning person so I have no clue what I was going to say.

Welcome to those who are new and I don't remember the names!
Sorry about your girl Mom.

Umm.. oh having a pool for chickens. I have one but put a board in it like a ramp so if they fall in they can climb out. They also use it to get in closer to the water.

Not a very productive day today. I did get the chicks all moved around so they have more room. I spent HOURS updating my resume and working on a cover letter. I ran into town to get ribs for tomorrow. It's hubby's birthday and they are his favorite. It occurred to me afterward there are some in the freezer from the pig we butchered in December.

How long does a broody care for the chicks? My mom seems to be losing interest in her babies. They are 6 weeks old and not quite fully feathered yet. They tend to wander off on their own. I found them all out side the chicken yard this afternoon and mom was back in the coop.

That is really sad!! I hope she gets better and can hold her own against them!

Juise & Raz you guys are cracking me up.

I'm just jealous because I can almost never pull off automotive work without making myself bleed. Then he had to go and be mean to me! *sniffle*

And the cursing really just goes without saying. Unless the kids are around. Then I have to instead shout things like, "Arrrrghhhh! wwwwooooooorrrrrrrdddssss!!!"

haha Juise! Same here, but no kids, so cussing ensues most of the time, hehe.

Oh yea, so BF put the chickens to bed tonight since I wasnt home until 930...and he says they were all already in the coop when he went out there. All on their own, by themselves! That was their first time figuring it out on their own. Unless he's pulling my leg...lol

Sarah, you can copy and paste any smiley you want.

Raz probably can't type because he was lying about not mutilating his hands.

So in the last 2 pages, I've been accused of improper repair, being wrong, lying and being mean.
I guess the honeymoon is over.
