Fuzzy - Children puking on the table because they don't want to eat real food is definitely on my top 5 reasons why I don't miss running an at-home daycare.

yes, there was definitely that evil little smirk before it happened, like on the smiley. i was banished to my room cause i was turning angry shades of red, and DH thought it was best i went and had a cup of coffee before i imploded., lol

Eeyore, you might try putting her separate with a few of the more docile chicks to see if she can make some friends, then re-integrate the whole bunch - that will mean she is not the only "stranger"

muttsfan, this worked brilliantly! It was a trick to find a docile one or one that wouldn't peck at her in the separate container. After a few tries I think I actually ended up with a decidedly less docile one but one that didn't seem to care about Blu one way or the other. They hung out basically ignoring each other for a while and when I put them both back in with the rest, a few gave some sample pecks at Blu but the other one jumped on top of the feeder and started cheeping really loudly and everyone just crowded around it like it was giving them a speech or something.

Just looked over and they're all grouped up in 3s and 4s sleeping peacefully.

Whew!

I learned 2 lessons: 1) never let the dogs in the yard were heavy things are being moved, and 2) never buy any equipment that says Sears or Craftsman.

I have a Craftsman riding lawn mower that is really junk! I won't buy Sears or Craftsman again.
RaZ - I am so glad your dog Maggie is o.k.! That is really a miracle that she is o.k.! Whew!

I have a lot more reading to catch up here. My son has had asthma again and I am now behind on everything. Everything

If anyone has any wisdom on allergies or asthma caused by Michigan pollen, please send it my way.
We are gluten, dairy, egg free. We have a HEPA filter in the furnace, a dehumidifier. John gets allergy shots each week and we see a naturopath and take supplements.
Gosh, what else could we do?

I like how everyone is willing to voice their opinion and no one takes offense. Everyone seems to accept the fact that we are all just trying to find our way through life the best way we can.

Raz, I guess some folks would call be a heathen as well. I take Granny to church every Sunday; see her safely inside, then come back when the service is over to pick her up. The folks at her church are all very nice and are constantly suggesting that I should attend as we. If it wasn't for the fact that I don't want to cause Granny any embarrassment I would tell them that the reason I don't attend is because of the "drug problem" I had as a teenager. My folks were very strict and devout so I was drug to church Sunday mornings. Drug to church Sunday evenings. Drug to church Wednesday evenings. I was finally able to kick the habit when I joined the Army.

We had the same rule. Dad always said that Mom would not make anything that was bad for us. The trouble was brussel sprouts. Just the smell of them would make me puke. Dad made me eat them anyway. After the first one, I could not stop vomitting. We ended up making a trip to the ER in a snow storm. Guess I showed them!

Sorry that you're dealing with this, Grandma.

That is rough. One of our daycare children had quite a lot of allergies, pollens and leaf molds among them. He was also getting regular allergy shots. I hope you find a better solution, we just had to keep him in when allergies were abounding, and even then we would still have to use his inhaler and sometimes his nebulizer, poor little guy.

It was hard.

Thank you for the good thoughts.

Don't take this as advice or experience, but I've read a few articles that suggest local honey helps kids with allergies.
