Sarah: Congrats on the job! :)

Welcome to the new people! I'm pretty new and these are my first birds. Hang in there.

Raz: Sorry to hear about your rough week. I hope everything smooths out and everyone is safe and healthy.

BR737drvr: You sound busy and I look forward to pictures of your chicks. Gluten allergies are one of the worst because you're right when you say it is in everything on the planet. I have some resources if you want to PM me.

Silly Chicken- Happy birthday from us too.

Grandma Nancy: Food allergies suck so much. Keep us updated and I wouldn't mind swapping tips and information either.

I'm sorry for anyone I missed because I've been swamped like crazy here at home. My chicks are doing pretty good except now one has a mysterious sneeze. So far searching on the forum says unless I get some discharge I shouldn't worry. I was reading up on NPIP certification and I may spring for it so I can get those tests done and know what's what. Crossing my fingers that the sneezing is just dust and nothing more serious. (no one looks sickly, they are all moving, drinking, eating, etc just as usual)

I helped set up my sister in law with 4 aracaunas from FFH in Swartz Creek and discovered they had different stock than my local TSC did. So I ended up leaving with 2 ducks and three more chicks- a silver laced, RIR, and a Buff Orp. They are a lot smaller than my others so I may have to stick them in a smaller box. At this point I'm working on building a much larger brooder because my chicks are starting to flap and jump a lot. The largest has some brown feathers growing on their shoulders/wings and the little easter eggers are getting a lot of real looking feathers themselves. My new chicks are way off from that.

b737drv! Welcome back. :) I was going to ask after you, but then I saw you in the "currently viewing" box the other day and decided you probably hadn't skipped out on us. Noooooo I haven't gotten our bat box done, or even the bird houses built that my poor 4 year old worked so hard on measuring and marking out what feels like forever ago. My 20 month old has been keeping me unable to do anything lately aside from follow her around, deal with disaster after disaster, get her down from high places, take away things that she should have or been able to access, and I don't even want to talk about the constant ripping off her diapers so she can do unspeakable things in inappropriate places. I swear to gods I am going to start duct taping them on her. I hope you will post pics of your coop and run when you've finished!
LET ME TRY THAT AGAIN!

Can I just say that I love your autocorrect?

LET ME TRY THAT AGAIN!

Daron, not Hankins... Those oinkers, not pullets... Are the hairiest, not naturist... I have ever seen. What does their hair feel like? Is it bristly, not briefly...

Sorry, but... :lau

Their hair feels very wirey and stiff. It takes some time to get used to the feel of it.

Why would those ducks ever leave RaZ's house? What a deal they have!

Because they are just like my exes. They just don't know how well they have it with me.

Actually, I hope they leave in fall and come back next spring because they know that my yard is good for raising their young. I had wild mallards come here for a few years and then they disappeared.
