Lol. So, I just went to warm up some of the potato soup I made earlier this week for something quick, and mentioned to my 4 y/o that I hadn't even had breakfast yet, how could she let me do that? (I did feed the kids, of course, just not myself...)

She looks at me, puts her hand on her hip, and says, "Well, aren't you just the silliest little mama I have ever seen!"

Kids are silly.

Hahaha that's awesome.

I don't think I could read all the posts that amass in one day's time without wearing out. I just check and found that there was 305 posts in the last 24 hours. Trying to catch up after a week would probably make you brain explode.

That's why I scan rather than read.

Clearly you need a sharper dog.

Try a Border Collie.

There is a bug that can be ordered that is called "Predator". Horse people use them to keep the flies down. Predators eggs are mail ordered to you and you put the eggs on the piles of poop. The Predator eggs hatch, eating the eggs laid by the flies. It is a totally natural predator to flies. I don't see the difference if it is pigs or horses, though you would probably want to look into it further.

It doesn't matter what kind of stock you have, but it helps to have somewhere concentrated -- such as a manure pile -- to put them and they only really work if you buy and place them before the flies get started for the season. HTH!

I was going to say... look at your receipt. HEHEE.

You know whats weird... I can remember when I got all my chickens. I can remember what day what chick was hatched. HOW OBSESSED AM I? LOL

I sure hope I have more pullets out of the 5 silkie chicks than roos. Oh man. LOL Poor Leila is now mothering 9 chicks. I am going to put some fresh batteries in my camera. I can't believe all 9 are under her. I can believe that 2 week old chick got under her too! Leila is great! I think I need to build her a deluxe condo.

What age should I take my roos to get outfitted for Camp Frigidaire? I want to say that the cockerels I got from Avalon are nearly a solid 4 months old. AND only 3, yes 3, are of the dinner table persuasion. How lucky am I? I would however be willing to re-home them if some body wants a rooster for rooster duty. I am not willing to re-home for someone elses dinner.
