M. Sue, how old is your daughter? I wonder if she and my niece do shows together, heh.

It's a possibility

.....She is 10 has been riding steady since she was 6. Our last show was down in Lowell and although that was strictly all English riding. I did see the pic of your niece...she looks comfortable in the saddle and is very cute.

Juise, and who ever else has kids... Have you tried egg sprouts? Well, growing sprouts in egg shells? You can do it on cotton, or in soil, using the egg shell as the planter. Get your kids to paint faces or what ever on the out side of the shells first... SO cute, and so much fun for the kiddos.

Otherwise, here is a step by step on how to do it using soil.

And here using cotton...

Nova....my boss did the egg shells one year and gave them to our clients as gifts for Mother's Day. They were so cute. She said it was a little time consuming....I suppose because she did so many.

AND, here is something else to do with those egg shells aside from composting or feeding back to the girls. This I am going to have to try, cuz... Well, its just to cute! Bet it'd be something fun to bring to an elderly community as well. AND to kindergarten/preschool when its your turn to provide snacks.

Oh I bet. I am thinking though, that is what the little munchkins are for... The hard part of painting the faces or what ever. LOL. I also think, cotton balls are less messy in the long run. Especially if you have to worry about a little Katalin getting in to them. HEHEHE. I bet that was so dang cute, even if a little, or a lot annoying. LOL. HEY, she got her own lunch today. LOL

Hope you feel better Juise.

It would be a fun activity for them!

Gotta go people.....off to the barn we go!!

Everyone have a great afternoon!!!!!!!

vjwilmoth - Yay on the coop, pics or it didn't happen.

I can't get over how sweet and silly your Waffles is.

Okay, DH is home early so pics of the coop real quick! Then I'll try and come back to read and respond. ALL the pics are in my coop album too. ;)

Just need siding!

When you first walk in the door. The bottom two boxes are tip out bins my DH designed for me!

Yes, I decorated. Haha Haven't made the door for the chicken walk out yet.

He's finishing the roost area right now...it's pretty non-traditional from what I normally see. I'll post a pic when he's done. I better skidattle or he's gonna come looking for me! :D

Okay, our coop is ALMOST DONE! Just a couple finishing touches and whalaa! Well, it needs siding put back on and paint but that's not required for chickens to live in it. We've been burning that midnight oil for sure! I take the girls outside everyday(unless it's seriously nasty) and let them semi-free range it. Those silly chicks all wander in a tight group. lol

A cute pic from this weekend....Waffles is never going to lay an egg....she's just going to try and brood all the others I think. At least she's sweet. haha Can you see the baby d'uccles? She also has the RIR under there too. Sigh...
That is just too stinkin cute! She is going to be a keeper for sure. Congrats on getting the coop almost done.

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE SHUT THE WIND MACHINE OFF!!!!!!!!!!!! MAN, THIS IS GETTING SO OLD!!

Good job on the brooder and coop!! It's such a great feeling to get these things done.

Have a great day, and don't blow away!

At least it helps to get the laundry dry.....as long as my drawers don't get blown away
