And you once glanced at my husband's junk wondering whether or not he had a rash there. At this point I think we've more in common than me and my real sisters. Because, honestly? I've glanced at his junk and wondered the same.
You act like that was the only reason I looked...

If he ever gets back with my chimichanga he will crack up. (He's taking forever. It's like we live half an hour from the nearest town or something. Oh, wait...)![]()
Oh come on you're much closer to the nearest town than that. Of course the "nearest town" has 2 gas stations and a bank. And that's all. Mobil Gas Chimichangas? Mmmm!
Well I know I'm late in responding but I was going to say Blue-Kote them and monitor. My mom once had some meat chickens that had holes pecked through their sides, like you could see their innards! And she disinfected/blue koted them and they healed right up. It was her first go round with meaties and put them in with her layers. Didn't make that mistake again. Thanks, Olive. I'll pm you once I can get pictures of the 2 of them. I did just check on them and they still seem to be doing fine. Maybe Raz is right and they aren't as bad as I think, but it gave me a jolt when I saw the wounds. I've never seen anything like them before.
Knock it off Raz! Haha
Happy Birthday to your little guy!Hope to get a few things done but my day with be hectic so not sure how much will be accomplished. Going with my Dad today when he gets a biopsy. Hoping results come back negative. Then tonight having a birthday party for my newly turned 10 year old Nathaniel. Glad it is nice out that way all those boys can be outside instead of in my tiny house.
Hope you all have a great day today.![]()
Not to beat a dead horse but...This michigan thread is funny people post b s and nonsense about their day to day life over and over again. But if someone has a legitament chicken question needs help they get ignored. maybe I should post about my kids diarrhea and sneak in a chicken question maybe I'll get a response?![]()
I'm looking to add a Ameraucana or EE pullet to the flock if someone could guide me to the direction of a reputable breeder or might have some them self please PM me it would be much appreciated.
Fresh
Welcome Amy!Thanks to you and the others who responded.
Yeah... "I'd like to go smaller" isn't quite clear, is it? What I meant was, I'd like to go with a smaller breeder over a huge hatchery. But, you make some good points about parasites. Thanks.
We have a SLW, and Australorp, and the BO. We'll be replacing the BO with another. Are you saying getting a different breed isn't a good idea? I was thinking a BO and another good winter, family friendly, quieter breed, for 4 total chickens. I was considering 2 bantam chicks, and am reading conflicting reports about mixing them w/ standard sized birds. And it looks like sexing bantams isn't done?
I just checked Townline's website, and it looks like they don't have much selection. Is it likely they'd have more variety for a walk in customer?
Thanks again!
If the thread doesn't suit you the door is any one of many links scattered all over every page, don't let one hit you on the way out.

I've had a rough week. Not feeling well...lost a bunny...lost as in it jumped off the grooming table....then off my 8ft deck and off through the woods it went. I assumed (my fault) that the breeder, who shows rabbits, had blown out his coat before...apparently no. He freaked. :: sigh :: I found a suitable replacement for him but ****....if I didn't have alot of money just hop off into the woods.![]()
There are four reasons I don't answer questions:
1) I don't know. (So very rare, I tell you.)![]()
2) I didn't read your post
3) The only answer I have is over-the-top snarky. (Yes, I think even worse things than I already post. I KNOW!)
4) I think answering is a waste of my time. Mostly because you've demonstrated that you're not really interested in advice/answers consistently and repeatedly in the past. (And yes, now I know you'll all be wondering if I'm talking about you in this one. That's the fun part! Bwahaha!)
The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. Hi, my name is Vanessa and I'm addicted to buying cute baby chicks... Okay, your turn.Omg!!! I just left the feed store with 6 more chicks.... someone help me!! I need a chicken intervention ( but they are so stinkin cute!!!)
YAY!!!!Of course not, friendly banter between friends is fine. But I don't think you or I would just walk up to someone on the street that you've never seen before and said "Hey you! You got a big butt, now can I get directions to the nearest pizza joint?". And expect a friendly reaction.
WooHoo! First pip in the new #1588!
It is funny... I imagine Eeyore and Olive to be sisters. If you are not... you should be!![]()
Juise, Vj, Bianca, BabiGyrl are my new best friends...![]()
Raz is that guy next door that you are not sure if he really is a bad a** or a big softy... but we know the truthEspecially after all those duck photos... You better jump on that Harley and ride to the beer store again! Or maybe the creepy uncle...![]()

Chicken Gandma is just that... grandma to all... Except I don't think you are old enough to be a grandma.
Mom2em is just so...
Opa... is the best grandpa... but you respect/ fear him cause he could give ya a whoopin.![]()
I have missed a lot of you but I am not sure yet where you fit in this BYC world in my head...
On a completely different note I just watched a house wren chase a dragon fly! It was so neat! Almost like a dance! The dragon fly got away.
for the bird... he can go to the feeder though!![]()
Really? I think Raz is the guy that makes me want to get better blinds![]()
Nice job!!!Well... I told my niece to take some pics and send them to my mail, so I could share the day's progress... Oh, I am good. I am, I am. At what... well I haven't a good clue. BUT, good at something. LOL
I still have to coat all the bottom boards..., but am not going to do that till I get the trim I want. THEN I will stain it before putting it in place, so no crap! ALSO, there is ventilation on the A-Frame. The roof overhangs quite a bit, like a foot, and then there is a half wall. In the winter, it will be covered with plastic... BUT, here is the almost finished product...
The roofing looks funny there, because at the last minute I decided to put the shingles all the way across the top... And the actual roof sits a bit higher than the run part. Also, the walk up and the inside half wall have been painted green.
And the staining/painting in process on the big coop.
Oh my goodness. Lol!!I did a lot of hoeing today. Hoed it up all day long. My 4 year old wanders over me at some point to say, "Mama, why on earth are you chunking up all over the place?" Lol, what?I explained to her what I was doing, something she has helped do the last few years, it totally is not foreign to her, and she replies, "THE WHOLE BED IS IN A PANIC!!" Yeah... I can tell she was listening to every word I said.![]()
And turkey. And duck. And five fingers. And you once glanced at my husband's junk wondering whether or not he had a rash there. At this point I think we've more in common than me and my real sisters. Because, honestly? I've glanced at his junk and wondered the same.
I'm giggling just imagining that scene. This is the first time I am leaving the coop OPEN! I have the door on, and I just installed the lock... Yeah, you know, one of them latch locks. The funny thing, my oldest may not be able to reach it now that I think on it. I put it up HIGH so no darn coon can get it open.
I was out in the duck pen, talking to the Neighbor's wife, and we were cracking up because one of the cockerels that I haven't named yet is freaking out so bad in the summer coop, because he couldn't figure out how to go around the open door, (it opens inwards), trying to get away from Mr. Fluffers, who didn't have to do anything to kick hiney. All he had to do was stand there and watch unnamed roo do all the beating. HAHA. Poor guy. Once he figured out how to get out, he was out of there like a canon shot.
I have more grey hair.
Got the mess I made mostly cleaned up. Now need to shower, and wait for the kiddos to get home. They'll be home bout 10. SO, half an hour of standing in the hot water. OH YEAH!
Thanks for liking my set up. LOL. I like it too. Like it even better now that its painted/stained.. The stain that acts like a paint is what the can said...
