What did you say when he said that? UGH, I hate when officials make stupid rules. What about the squirrels? Should you tell them all the nuts are next door?
I missed it, too...

How did I miss that?
That lady... I can't believe she threw her chicken in the pond... That's just messed up. I don't care if chickens can swim... I figure if they want to, they will, but why the hell are you going to throw her in just so you can get a youtube video for poops and giggles? I didn't think it was funny... but that is just me.
I know!!!! I think we should find her and throw her in!!! At the end I was like "RUN CHICKEN RUN!!!!! SHE IS GONNA DO IT AGAIN!!! RUN!!!"
I didn't think it was funny, either. I was just amazed that it swam out just like a duck!
Sorry if I made anyone upset. That wasn't the intention.

I had a slow unproductive day until this evening. I lounged around with the kids this morning and played outside. THEN I got crazy and started to tackle that horrid beast of a mess that my neighbor calls "the privacy fence" (Really it is forsythia bushes and a myriad of small trees being choked out by wild grape vines) The vines have killed so many branches underneath... It is ugly. I asked my neighbor if it was okay to fix it up and she agreed that it NEEDED to be done... she just wouldn't do it or help...
smack.gif
It is good anger management though! The vines at the base/ root are as thick as my arm!!! Not sure I even made a dent...
Does anyone want some grape vines?
Oh, then I did dishes...
While I was tucking my son in, I noticed someone had been EATING a decorative frog CANDLE!!!! It has little teeth scrapings all over it
he.gif
WHO EATS A CANDLE???? I am not really upset but whoever did it was super sneaky and put it back exactly where it was... I don't think it was my son... It was either the boy I watch or his cousin that was over the other day... One puts things in his mouth all the time and the other is a Satan child... It is impossible to raise a child when the adult is still a child. Get what I am saying? He could be really good with some good authority... and I don't take any crud at my house!

Mom2... If my hatch goes bad will you share some of your uggos with me?
fl.gif
But then my other fear is they will ALL hatch!!! And I will have to find some homes!

Who posted the beautiful spotted chickens... I LOVE those!

Love the owl chick too!!! Soooo Cute!!! Hooter

Teeville - Juvenile Bald Eagles are dark brown (no white head -- they're actually very ugly birds until about 5 years old) and would match the larger wing span your DH saw.
Hmm. Interestingly enough, we do have eagles located nearby. DH saw them quite often last year and thinks they live in the area around the lake a bit behind us. I guess I'll just have to keep the binoculars handy so the next time I can see them better and be able to tell what the birds are. Thanks for everyone's input, though, as it gives me more knowledge as to the various types of birds I might have seen.

So I'm in a conundrum about my bantams. I am pretty sure I'm going to end up with both my d'uccle chicks being roos. And I have a sneaking suspicion my polish and a couple silkies are roos too. Do you suppose they will all live happily ever after together or am I going to need to find homes for some? Darn this roo-itis seems to be viral!
th.gif
I suppose it would depend on who you asked. I wound up with 9 roos last year. 7 bantams, 2 standard. My ee & RIR tolerated each other at first, but then ee kicked rir butt. RIR is gone now, but we have a BR now that ee is just starting to tolerate. I had 2 oegb bantams that were mean to the others so they got rehomed and after that the remaining 5 bantams chummed around everywhere with the 3 girls. Unfortunately, I lost all of those roos.
Of my new chickens this year, I only have 1 confirmed bantam roo, but suspect 3 of the 4 silkies as well. I really, really hope I'm wrong there.

Not much done today, but we did go and get some gutters that DH wants to put on the pole barn so he can start collecting rain water off it.

eta- Happy Birthday Taprock. Hope you had a nice day and I really love the coop.

Backyard Farm Mom, that's nothing..... my mom had a friend who's kid came to our house when i was a teen and he hid in the bathroom and ATE our gel air freshener! Thing didn't even smell good, i don't want to think about taste...... Some kids will eat anything.

Sorry all, if i seemed a little too vague, I have gotten in trouble only but once and it was because i tried to alert a moderator to a very offensive facebook post about rooster fighting, i learned that #1, the facebook BYC is not the same thing, and #2, that was the wrong section to post to a moderator to. I did get their attention, though, and i noticed that moderators seemed to post just after me off and on for a couple weeks..... lol.

And don't worry, i would tell someone if they offended me, not just rush out and call a mod. I'm pretty thick skinned, just not where animal cruelty is concerned.

Opa - Thanks! It's been years since I had a Grandpa, nice to have one again, even if I am not actually sure you are much older than my father, lol.
I'm pretty sure that I have gotten old. If fact when God created the world in six days, I think I may have been sitting on the couch next to him when he rested on that 7th day.

Probably going to head south around 4am so ya'll will have to fix your own coffee. Notice how I slipped that ya'll in there? I'm just practicing so that when I get south tomorrow night the people there won't realize I'm not one of the folks.

I hope I can get access to a computer a few times while I'm gone. If not trying to catch up on a weeks worth of posts might make my brain explode.

Ya'll be good in my absence.
