They were atleast a week old when I got them from FFH. They are getting what looks to people curly feathers. Gonna have to take a pic of this... Is that normal for pekins?

Oh, and my other 4 that I gave to momma k, they were very sweet girls. I didn't have 2 do much with them... They were raised like kids... Once they got used to me as the food lady they were as darling as could be.

Well, there is that. But since they started laying and have become used to my groping, they are OK.

M2M has set me up to be a day-care centre. It is entirely against my will.

That might mean that they are boys.

um, yes.... just looked it up. The drakes have some curl on the tail, females don't. I guess those Northern ducks are headed to freezer camp for sure now! On the plus side, I read that the males have a softer quack than the female Pekins...

Talking about ducks... anyone want a happy duck family? With 2 laying hens? Welsh Harlequin pair with their 3 ducklings, Isa Brown and Silver Laced Wyandotte hen for $40 or best offer to somewhere they won't be eaten by a person. Ducks and hens are 2 years old. They were raised together, so they forage together.

This picture I have of the drake is from last year, he looks the same and it shows the same hen.

The drake has something against blue chickens ??? He's been pulling feathers on my two bantam hens who are blue. Also the drake has a limp from vitamin deficiency when he was growing. The pair are from Holderread Top Show Quality mating, I don't know how to judge if they are TSQ. Drake wouldn't be TSQ from the limp, but maybe the rest. I think the ducklings are 2 drakes, one hen from their bill color at hatch. The chickens were from TSC.
