You know...
lots of zombie talk these days since the incidents in Florida and now in Maryland..

maybe we should be afraid of Nova and her unearthing...

My tiny baby didn't make it. :( Was doing awsome, jumping around yesterday. I poked at the belly button after, and there was tainted yolk inside her. :( Must've been when the egg got broke in the nest, i did my best but i am sure that it contaminated her egg. Don't know how she made it as far as she did.

On a better note, i buckled down and have given my hen her penicillin shot yesterday and today, she seemed perky but she always does, i will know more i guess after i re-do her bandage tomorrow. The chick that didn't make it was absolutely stunning, so i need her to feel better and give me some eggs, my timid EE is thinking about brooding, but maybie that's just wishful thinking..........I have pics of the chick's coloring when i can get batteries for my camera.

LOL that was HH wishing me a happy birthday.
Ummm, not me

Not till Sept. But thanks anyway.
Good luck to your DH with the job.
I was going to say something a little off color about pigs in beds... but thought better of it. Not a lot better obviously... There is a Greek sorceress, Zerses (SP?) who would turn the men that came to her island into the animal they most resembled inside... Sadly, it was mostly pigs and asses... HA!

Zombie chickens got to her???

Hope she responds well to the penicillin. Sorry bout the chick.

the more the ducks freak out when I get near them, the more I want to eat them... OH THE JOY OF THE AWESOME TOUCH PAD!
Nova,

If you have more than one duck they'll only tolerate you if you work on imprinting them within the first day or two they've hatched. Otherwise, this is my experience:
Raised by broody hen - not friendly
Raised by duck - not friendly
Raised with chicks and attempts to imprint them on you - tolerate you
Only one duckling - will love you and your 100 lb dog
