So, I'm also raiseng some Dominiques, they were just 8 weeks old back on May 29th. I'll put up a pic of them.
Got them from Cluck something or other, they are doing well being we just had a doozie storm his us last Sunday.
Like a typical Mom I go OUT IN THE STORM, it was literally LIFTING my CHante hut I built last year com-
pletely OFF the ground. I got inside and was trying to be extr a weight and hold it down. Meanwhile the little
Doms are in the extension I just built, they are getting pelted by wind and rain and just out of my reach. But
they all survived. The rain wasn't cold bu t the wind was intense, the 2nd worse storm I've been thru since
living out here. I'll post a pic of the coop, you can see in the photo it was moved about 3 feet to the right of
where it had been. And twisted!! Oh my!!. We have it back in position b ut will need to figger a way to
anchor it down somehow. Boy what a day that was. I'm just a few miles inland from Saginaw Bay and it
came right off the water and there was nothing to slow it down. We got hammered.
Well the chicken pen photo is already deleted but here are the Dominiques.

I got a call to rehab a baby skunk that was dumped at the emergency hospital.
I declined- they tried to guilt me and tell me that he would have to be euthanized if I wouldnt take him.

I declined.

I feel REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYY bad for the little guy but I cant rehab a skunk, I dont have room- I have cats, dogs, chickens, I couldnt keep him seperated enough.

Seems the coons are getting everything they can lately. I had a friend that lost 7 chicks last night from the darn things. Definitely coon hunting season.

DD's lip looked a lot better this morning. Of course, being me, I tend to stick to a streak when I have one and managed to burn a finger on the iron today while ironing my son's graduation gown for Baccalaureate tonight. The iron was not in the off position when plugged in (totally didn't even notice) and in my ever-so-unobservant moment, I touched the darn thing (though I can't really recall why I touched the pad in the first place).

Of course, really, if my son had hung up his clothes/gown after his school's Swingout, instead of leaving them all balled up in his duffle bag....

Kids, right?
you need an aloe vera plant, very good for burns.
Snowflake - You don't need to measure yours, thank you for offering, though.

My setup obviously isn't working, so I need to change it anyway. The front is just as tall on the new boxes as it was on the old - about 4 inches. I am going to try putting something in the bottom first, and if that doesn't work I will put a taller lip on the front. That height worked for a year, though! Silly chickens. Oh, you know what height I would like to know, if it isn't too much trouble? About how tall is the fence around your pool? None of ours have flown into our pool yet, but I worry about it. Glad your chicken is okay.

we have a 48" movable fence, it ran along the back side of the pool, she flew over to the wrong side, I have it up to keep most of the chick poo off of the pool area and plants near the house, she and 2 other hens usually go under,3 on this side don't do to much harm but 50 (including the meaties) can really mess things up

ChicwannaB - Cute pig!

I got him just under 5 weeks old but he's up to 6 weeks now. He weighed 14 pounds last thurday night when I took him to church and put him on the scales at fat class.
And he doesn't really have his OWN bed, he comes in and snuggles with Mom and some of the terriers after breakfast!! he is NOT a pot belly, this is an American
Guinea Hog, a hog meant for meat, they don't top at out the huge 800 pound size like you see sometimes at the fairgrounds, this little feller will be around 300 when he's full grown.
Docile as all go get out, I stepped right into their pen with their owner, the boar and the sow and none of them came at me. Very friendly pig.
And I love him to death. He comes in for breakfkast and I've been having to learn to make him healthy food because in about 5 days time he got super spoiled already and then wouldn't touch pig food.
So now I soften his piggy food with warm water and apple sauce, just a little because they love the taste of it, and crush up a few cheerios. You should hear him go to town!!
Lip smacking good, it's so funny.

You should have called me. I would do it if he was de-scented and neutered.

When I was little, my cousin was great at finding orphans in the woods and bringing them home. He often had baby skunk, opossum, squirrels and raccoons. Maybe that is where I got my love of nature.

BYFM-

I replied to your PM, and if you dont want to wait that long, I found this CL ad-

ChickwannaB

are you going to keep him as a pet or is he going to be food?
Is he going to continue to be an indoor/outdoor pig?
I cared for a pig that weighed three hundred pounds, was housebroken, had her own bed and blankets..Her name was Lily and she was very loved by my staff and her owners.

but he wouldnt have been. Pure natural rehab and release back into the wild.

I had a vet that would have deskunked and neutered him, but she is no longer around.

I am up for some rehab too!!
