Tell me when you are around and we can make a party of the day.
By the time I'm done, you'll have a bee hive in your backyard and brewing beer on the front porch.

It would fit right in with the rest of the redneck funny farm that's going on around here.

I'm going to take you up on this offer. When I figure out when my next trip your way is, I'll let you know.

I'm visiting Sebastian the Skunk on Sunday, where Mom2 will be. :)
Oh, me too! Have you ever done a Gluten Free brew? (no barley or wheat) I am really not a huge fan of the GF beer options out there. :(

Hey Juise - Tell me more about brewing wine. That might be easier than trying to craft up a barley free beer at home. ;)

Oh right, okay. Well, we'll see what happens when I talk to DH.

Wine is super easy, you should do it!

Oh.
In that case, I'll put the hose on the mud pit so I'm ready for you.

See you Sunday.

I'm going to take you down

Well, I didn't get those 20 some odd soaked packages of seeds in the ground today like I needed to. I did get the beds hoed, weeded, and prepared, though, so it shouldn't be a problem to get them in tomorrow. I hope they are okay.

OK! I spent a fun 2 hours at Juise's house. I tell ya, those kiddos of her are so cute. Was nice talking to another adult for a few hours. And yes, she for REAL had a black widow in an old baby jar for me. No, wasn't interested. NO, I already have brown recluse around here, I don't need widows also. NO NO NO

Yes, Juise, I would gladly help you out with the excess veggies. I got the pachysandra laid out around the run, and also on the east side of the house where NOTHING is. I have to put chicken wire/poultry net to protect it. The first thing Skatter did when I got up from planting, was to take her chicks in and start digging out the bugs that were in there. Then Skeeter went with her chicks to the other side. GAH! So, took care of that problem. About the sedum(SP?), I was looking at where I could put it in the yard, and the only place that I have that is still a problem area for me if along my retaining wall. However, I would have to get a yard of soil first, add landscape timbers as a box, then fill in with plants that take little sunlight. I need to to move some of the grasses I was telling you my brats were destroying, they are taking over the irises. Going to kill/smother them out if I don't cut it back and out. I guess I could move those. I have a huge grouping of them on the east side of my front yard if you are interested in any, your more than welcome to pick some out at the end of the season. I am thinking though, that the phlox may be my best bet for the retaining wall area, since the soil is poorer there, and I could get away with just putting a few inches of good top soil over that area, and the phlox should take hold not problem, as long as I net over it for a few weeks first.

John fixed my lawn mower last night, so was finally able to mow the front lawn today. WOO HOO! It was looking crappy. I usually mow in circles, but this time I just mowed it back and forth, north to south. Actually looks nicer that way. Now I just need a lawn rake to get up all the grass clippings so I can just dump it in the chickens run, or in the way back. Start a compost heap out behind the shed instead of compost bins.

Well, my feet and knees are killing me, and I have to work tomorrow morning, so I think I will go and put my feet up for a short while, before I go to bed.

Ferns... I'd love to have a fence line full of ferns and ivy...

We have baby chickies! My son called me while working to let me know one of Baby Girl's eggs hatched. When my daughters got home from school they went to see it and at that time they got to see another hatch. So we have 2 so far out of 13. I tried to get photos, but only one chick cooperated.

This one hatched out first and was from the leghorn egg. The other one is white and a bantam. I'll try again later to get a photo of that one. Now to sit and wait to see if any more hatch out.

Juise, the neighbor that gave me my run, also gave me a home made garden till... You gotta see this thing. He made it 30 odd years ago, and I tell ya, it worked great for getting the ground dug up to plant the pachy... ANYWAY, I'll get a pic of this thing, you'd appreciate it.

A for real redneck farm? If you are talking about Southern rednecks (and I mean that with respect), I would love to learn to make some real shine.

I was just talking about us being rednecks and the rednecked up state of just about everything around here. I've never made shine, but I do know a guy... I'll see what I can do.
