I don't particuarly (sp?) like showgirls but I sure would have taken that one. No problem with chicks once they get big enough. I have a partridge rooster coming .
AH HA!!!!!!! You are sooooo busted! See, you can be swayed!!! Showgirl, Uggo...same difference! Don't see you threatening turkeys here!

WHAT!? I can't believe this!! I had it on the calender for this weekend!!! How could I be so daft!! Omg. I thought it was tomorrow morning. Frickin... WORDS! Argh! I just finished potting up Mom2's plants!! They'll never make it! I am going to have to figure something out... maybe PM Nigellas. Omg words just cannot express... I told you guys I am bad with time, right? Really bad. My husband is going to stab me. I might just not make it on account of being dead.

Aside from that, Mom, I have milkweed, sedum, lily of the valley, and moss all potted up for you. I also have a whole bunch of little variegated hosta starts for whoever wants them. they are all in two pots at the moment, but I can split them up if need be. I also have a small amount of something groundcovery I though you might like, Mom, but I don't know what it is. Anyway, did I forget anything?

Well. thank you!! But I will see you in a week...you will be very lonely if you show up at Chickenstock today.
Thanks Tee....

I will be wanting silkies still at CS. And if anyone has an older bird that is laying still to make Roger happy, that'd be good. I don't want him lonely for long.
Are you gonna eat them? Because I have these uber-broody white silkies here that live on their nests I could give you. They have been sitting for about two weeks. They are about two years old.
Good morning Michigan - could I have beaten Opa this morning?
Good Morning! Opa has been late as of lately...don't beat him.

Ive watered the yard, fed the chickens, chased flies..and now I hear my hubby waking up. He came home from the hospital yesterday and thinks I don't jump fast enough for him.

Has anyone seen my staple gun?
My husband always gives me a hard time because I STINK at putting it away...though I do truly appreciate that it is always where it belongs when I want it.

Well, its not there.

I looked everywhere. And I need it.

Olive

i had the creepiest dream ever in the whole world that I am sure had nothing to do with you..

I will spare you the entire dream, and only give you the highlight that makes me tell you anything anyhow.

On a buffet table was a platter with green olives but instead of pimentos, they had fresh blood dripped on them.

My parrot is trying to mimic Chimichanga- the zombie chicken-....

The rooster crows his deep UUUGHHH UGGGHHH UUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh....

then Dino, my parrot goes, "UUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRHHHHH"

I can hear it now...chickens? No, officer, I don't have any chickens..the crowing that everyone hears all day long non-stop is my parrot.

Oh, those are illegal in my city, as well?

LOL. You have the same thing going on as I do. Go back to a project the next day and something new is missing. Have to stop and think who was doing what project and what tools they would have needed, then go and look in that location. Lose sooo much time hunting down my tools. SO FRUSTRATING.

Our Roost - Hi neighbor in Freesoil! I'm across US31 in Grant twp. We're just finishing our coop and are on the lookout for some young hens/pullets. If you know of anyone nearby who wants to sell a few please let me know. I'd highly appreciate it!
Not too picky about breed, friendly future egg layers are all we want.

& welcome! Check out the link in my siggy for info on Chickenstock which is being held next week. You may just find what you are looking for and more!

Hey Mom - Remember that white Silkie cross you gave me ? Well my son laid claim to that one right away. He just loves that silly rooster. He has made it into a real pet. Even brought it in the house one time !!! My DIL said she turned around and there he sat with that silly chicken. Whenever he is outside doing something he takes it out of the coop and it follows him everywhere.

Grand Rapids area folks, where might one find food grade DE locally?

Sorry about the tractor attack. Finding pieces must be difficult and sad.
Amy I get mine at the local elevator it's so much cheaper then TSC, at TSC it's $12 for 20# at the elevator $15 for 40#
Thought I would share some pictures of a partridge showgirl (with bowtie) that came out of my hatch from last week. She's a pretty little thing! We don't have a partridge breeding program going on right now...but I think we might start one just so we can keep her!

She is SO POOFY!

Jen that little chicky is sooooo darn cute.

I have some pullets that will be six weeks old monday I will be bringing them to chickenstock. Boy I hate to part with them. This week I am going to figure out what breed they are with help from people here on BYC. I got hatchery choice of five differnt breeds at least.
Taking a break under the coop roof while outside working today and this deer came along. Knew I was there, and just kept grazing. I was able to walk up much closer after I took this. Later, there was a fox even closer. Needed to scare the fox off , but I think that that fox has a den nearby. Would explain the 3 motherless baby skunks, the doe missing her fawn, and our missing black cat.
Brethren49619, do you really think that a fox would kill a fawn and can it? Is it big enough?
