This is the reply I got from Lisa, regarding the eggs she sent me.
Ive read it three times and my brain starts going "
barnie.gif
" when I get to about the second sentence. So, I am going to copy it here and perhaps Robin or Olive can make sense of what they read. I understood BLUE, Black skinned, and the fact that all of them will probably hatch with yellow spots on their head. And zebra striped which I dont like.

"Oh, I meant to tell you about that one marked Tx ?.
It could be from a pen that has a blue barred Naked Neck green-egger rooster and barred green-egger hens. The last 2 pens I had been in were the Tx and that pen and marked the egg Tx, but then I couldn't remember for sure which pen it came from.

The eggs marked #2 are from a pen with splash Naked Neck frizzle green-egger rooster with black and blue Naked Neck green-egger hens.
The eggs marked Tx are from a pen with splash Naked Neck frizzle green-egger rooster with splash Naked Neck fibromelanotic green-egger hens and a barred Naked Neck green-egger hen.

Usually, if any Tx chicks hatch with a yellow head-spot, they will be blue barred and male. But if that egg marked Tx ? hatches with a yellow head-spot it could be male or female IF it came from that other pen."

I don't believe Olive is making assumptions. I believe she is stating her opinion. I relocate all the coons I catch and I am a member of HSUS and I take no offense in what she says. Every person is different and every person believes in things differently. One must do what they believe is right. I personally don't believe in poison and I don't believe in shooting them but I never hold it against another person for what they choose to do. I only have to live with what I do.

True we only have to live with what WE do.

If you do use poison you better make sure you bury really, really deep or burn the body because you don't want your dog or someone else's getting to it and have a snack for one last time. That's why my hubby does the shooting I can't even watch the before or after, I just want it done to protect my other animals.

P.S. you still bringing my Maran chicks right?

Kimmie

whew!!! I FINALLY caught up on all the posts...you guys really need to stop talking so much lol. I'm very excited to see everyone tomorrow and I've got at least 4 families coming that I stopped and randomly dropped off flyers to them as I drove by their house and realized they had chickens! Drives my husband nuts that I stop and talk to random people.

I told him that's how you make new friends!
Well, my hatches have been a little weird lately.
hmm.png
This weeks hatch I had 2 eggs pip and make little holes with thier beaks hanging out and then they died?! I also had to put a sussex chick down because she injured (..that word looks weird...did i spell that right?) herself or something while hatching and one of her legs was sticking straight out backwards. craziest thing I've ever seen in hatching so far. I had another batch of silkie eggs shipped to me from GA and hopefully this batch will have a better hatch rate. I let them sit for about 24hrs once I got them home so hopefully no detacted air pockets this time.
Oh! Hey, does anyone on here ship chicks? I have had a bunch of requests lately for shipped chicks and I asked the guy at the post office if he had a literature on shipping chicks and the rules/etc for it and he look at me like I just asked him how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop. (151 by the way

) so I'm on my own I guess. lol Any help would be awesome!

Sounds like you didn't get what you paid for M2?

Morning All,
Beautiful outside this morning and it was great sleeping with all the windows open! Heading out to work, hopefully I get out early as planned!

don't know if any one answered,,,mine do not molt all at the same time, Be glad they stop laying, I have 2 with no neck feathers, but I think they are being picked on,

Thanks, I don't think she's being picked on.

Can chickens have bannas?

Oh yes, mine love them!

Have A Great Day Everyone & please don't be so chatty....it takes me forever to catch up!

does it?
I think I did. frizzle blue black splash naked neck green eggers...just dont like the barred ones. I think she did say it in her ad, I just was too geeked to pick up on it. Regardless, I paid for 12, and got 20. 9 are marked '2' and 10 are marked Tx, one has a question mark.

and my talent for hatching roos means they will all have yellow spots on their head when hatched, lol.

I think the surprise hatches are the best ones- and with uggos, they are always a surprise :)

I think that I read that I will like the chicks from the #2 eggs, but none of them will have black skin...and the double-splash pen will have black skin, BUT could be zebras.

Do you get that from reading that?

No, I didn't (if I read it correctly). But if the FM gene was on the roo and crossed with the barred. That would be fasinating.
