It was a wonderful day for a family gathering of chicken folk. It had all of the happiness of a family reunion without the slobbering kisses of that crazy aunt.

Since CS last year, I've had the pleasure to meet several BYCers in person and today I got to meet even more. Unfortunately I wasn't able to meet every one. Maybe next year we should make some sort of 5 minute introduction circle so we can at least say hello to everyone.

Kudos to the wonderful organizers for setting this up. Thank you to everyone who brought food to share, it was all great. Thank you kind people who bought my honey. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Sorry I forgot a few things (like giving SillyChicken her tote back) and not having enough hop plants (Juise). I have more here that I can thin out. Maybe we can set up relays for transfers.

On the way home, I stopped at Opa's house for the garden cart and had coffee and cake with him and Granny. I think we overstayed our welcome by a few hours but I was enjoying the company. Granny said that I could come back and she would help me with my yarn tension to crochet better. I'm going to try for a full adoption if she'll have me.

My friend, Sue, had a fun time even though she is not a chicken person per se, but she did like seeing the critters that everyone had. She also said that she now understands why I like you people so much.

Anyway, I just wanted to say how I enjoyed the day with my "family". Thank you all for being there today.

Hey Raz - I thought of you and your pond when I saw this: http://annarbor.craigslist.org/zip/3097067872.html
ps - your friend that you brought today was super sweet. :)
I'll have to check that out.
I added a few new plants since you were here and the pond is crystal clear and the new fish that SillyChicken gave me is the top dog in the fish pecking order.

I've known Sue since junior high when I met her brother. I grew up with her family and she is like a little sister to me. Sometimes annoying and once in a while, tolerable. She is now my designated wing-man.

Pretty much as soon as we pulled out of the lot, I had non-buyers remorse for not getting a few ducklings from Theron. Ugh. :( Other than that terrible misstep, we all had a fantastic time - A huge thank you to who ever planned the kids activities - My boys had a ton of fun. Good food, great people. :)
You should have bought some. We came home with 7.

My dad and I had a great time at Chickenstock today. We are glad we sold quite a few birds and eggs. We came home with less than what we went with. Bought a few speckled sussex from RIRJen, A trio of bantam americaunas from Mrs Chickendad, and got a polish for my mom (THANK YOU eeyore75!!). We can't wait until next year.

First off, THAT was fun!!! So nice to meet everyone!

Second... Opa - the chicken was fantastic!! I would seriously love to sit and chat with granny all day! Thank you Opa, Granny and Hope, you guys are awesome! Who made the broccoli salad thing? Thanks to everyone who made food and to the DH that belonged to someone on here (?) for manning the grill!

Thirdly, thank you so much to everyone who took home one or two of my critters (esp the uggos! Muh whaha hahahah!) Thank you (I"m sorry, my memory is for crap!) to who ever took them...
I don't like to profile anyone, but, if someone tingles my spidey senses... then I'm not selling them anything! Ya'll know who I'm talking about, right?

This was my first year actually being able to hang out and talk!
I couldn't believe when I got called for the raffle (that was well picked through) that no one took one of those pretty painted eggs, so I guess I should say thanks again!! LOL!

Next year... I think we should make a few changes though.. we need to help carry the load a little more, it's all to easy to get up and walk away to do our own things (guilty)... and it's not fair to stick a few people with cleaning up etc. It also costs money to rent the pavilion and provide all that meat. Though some chipped in, it really didn't cover the costs. But, we have a whole year to talk about it and plan for an even better one next year! I'd hate for this to end because a few people feel taken advantage of or because they're stuck doing it all.

NOw...... it's finally time to relax and have that beer! May the hinges o frien'ship ne'er rust, nor the wings o love lose a feather! Slainte!!!

Raz........... where's my tote! LOL!

Raz excellent idea on getting together for a intro, hey maybe the ones that set up a booth can have a sign with their name/names maybe the breeds of animals on the signs etc. I will make them up if we want to do something like that. Of course you would have to know what kinds of breeds you have, unlike me I wasn't sure on two of my birds which was which, Golden Buff or Buff Orpington?

Silly, I feel so bad like I said that I didn't pitch in really that is not me. I am usually the one the does everything because I love doing it but this time I was so Chicken Drunk I just didn't think. Strange. But you better believe next year I will be right in there, arranging, sorting, cutting, as long as I keep my butt out of the sun!! I have a rash going up my leg as I type, darn lupus. It's hard to garden have to do it in the morning but still there's the sun then I go find work in the woods or in the house.

Anyway once again everyone today was just so awesome!!!!

Plus, if whoever needs more money for the park rental PM me please!
